Project Scope: Candidates will support various Java application projects focused on Automation Dev work.
We are hiring a Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python scripting and Java application development to support a high-impact automation initiative within the IT Marketing-facing division of a large healthcare enterprise. This role will play a key part in building scalable automation frameworks, developing Java-based services, and incorporating GenAI tools for intelligent test optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Python (e.g., Pytest, unittest)
- Develop and maintain Java-based web services (SOAP & REST)
- Automate UI and API testing using tools like Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and Bruno
- Leverage Generative AI tools and prompt engineering for faster debugging, test generation, and code improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, including Pega developers and DevOps engineers
- Contribute to test architecture, code reviews, documentation, and mentoring of junior team members
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of Java application development experience, including:
- Development of SOAP and RESTful web services
- Use of JUnit, TestNG, or similar Java test frameworks
- 5+ years of hands-on Python automation experience
- Strong knowledge of Pytest, unittest, or similar frameworks
- Proficiency with API and Web automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Postman, Bruno
- Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts and use of GenAI tools for code/test acceleration
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, VS Code
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container technologies
- Experience with Pega platform or other low-code BPM tools
- Understanding of DevOps practices including continuous integration and continuous testing
