Job description
A bit about us
At Placemakr, home meets hospitality. We’ve combined the best of apartment living, vacation rentals, and hotel stays into one experience. We partner with developers, property operators, and investors to curate a collection of apartment-like spaces in hand-picked neighborhoods. Our tech-enabled buildings create one-of-a-kind guest experiences and add tremendous value to the underlying real estate. Whether guests are with us for a night, a year, or somewhere in between, these are more than just spaces to spend the night — they’re a place to call home.
Our property team members help our buildings thrive by focusing on execution and ensuring a great experience for both residents and guests. Our non-property team members support property execution and the evolution of other areas within our platform. They can enjoy remote-first work with the freedom to choose their location — as long as they have access to a workspace and reliable Wi-Fi. We believe collaboration is key, so our remote-first teams and property leaders have biannual in-person get-togethers at various locations across the US.
From corporate non-property team members to our property teams and leaders, we’re looking for collaborative, driven individuals to join us as we continue to expand our presence.
The Impact You’ll Have
As a Senior Sales Manager – Extended Stay at Placemakr, your primary responsibility is to drive extended stay bookings for your assigned property. You’ll focus on building and maintaining a strong portfolio of long-term business by developing relationships with corporate clients, relocation partners, and other extended stay segments. In this role, you’ll strategically capture market share from competitors while uncovering new opportunities in emerging markets. Success will be measured by your ability to grow revenue, deepen client partnerships, and position Placemakr as the go-to solution for extended stay accommodations.
This role is a performance driven role, and the performance goals will be given to you in a separate document.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively prospect and build a strong, qualified pipeline of extended stay business through outbound sales efforts, lead generation, and market research.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key extended stay clients, including corporate accounts, relocation companies, travel managers, and long-term travel coordinators.
- Create and execute strategic sales plans tailored to extended stay market demands, client needs, and seasonal trends.
- Join and actively participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry associations, particularly those focused on extended stay and relocation, to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
- Coordinate and conduct engaging site tours, presentations, and property visits that effectively highlight extended stay features and benefits.
- Strategically guide prospects through the full sales funnel—from initial contact to proposal, negotiation, and contract close.
- Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and sales reports, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate documentation within CRM systems.
- Collaborate closely with revenue management and operations teams to ensure competitive pricing, strong rate integrity, and exceptional guest experiences.
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics, market trends, client feedback, and competitor activity to optimize performance and refine sales strategies.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and departmental revenue targets and sales goals for the extended stay segment.
What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field preferred, or commensurate experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5-10 years of sales experience within the Hospitality sector, with a strong preference for experience in corporate housing or extended stay hotel markets.
- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool required; Hubspot and ZoomInfo experience a plus.
- Current knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of the travel and relocation industry, market trends, and economic factors.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and use them to build relationships, gain buy-in and close business.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to drive results independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Lead by example and embody the core values of Placemakr. You Own It. You Make It Better. You Treat People Right.
