About the role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on one of our Core Experience Teams, you will play a crucial role in our engineering efforts behind critical product areas such as booking, scheduling, and payments. This position involves significant contributions to our user-facing web and mobile applications, built with React.js and React Native, while also participating in the development of our backend services built using Kotlin. You’ll work within a collaborative team to deliver high-impact solutions that directly contribute to our product’s success and user satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality user-facing applications using React.js and/or React Native.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver effective solutions.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across our frontend and backend systems.
  • Help define and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt and areas for improvement within the codebase.
  • Contribute to the continuous integration and deployment pipelines for web and mobile.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development
  • Proven expertise with React and/or React Native for building robust applications.
  • Experience with backend development preferred, including API design and implementation.
  • You have experience working in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • You have a desire to work in a fast paced environment, a bias for action, a passion for self-improvement, and helping to elevate and mentor those around you
  • You’re comfortable picking up new technologies (our team builds on Ruby, React, Kotlin, and React Native, and our stack will continue to evolve.)

  • React-native for mobile

  • Kotlin (micronaut, jooq), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), GRPC, Protobuf, and Postgres for backend
