Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our studio to work on Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. In this role you will contribute to the research and development of our in-house tools and help establish and develop processes and procedures within Unreal Engine 5 to enable content development teams to meet our creative and technical goals.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with art directors, engineers, content designers, and artists to achieve the project’s creative and technical goals.
- Develop tools and processes that enhance Unreal Engine 5 focusing on scalability, efficiency, and ease of use.
- Researching and integrating new features in Unreal Engine 5.
- Ensure high-quality asset integration while maintaining performance and memory efficiency.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in the art workflows ensuring a smooth development process.
- Write high-quality code that is optimized, bug-free, and aligned with project goals.
- Documentation, training, and guidance for development teams.
- Mentoring and guiding technical artists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a technical art role within the games industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
- Demonstrable experience using and developing tools that help aid the Unreal content creation process (Blueprints, PCG, Editor Utility Widgets, Editor Scripts, Geometry Scripting, and Slate Editor Tools).
- Familiarity with procedural content systems.
- Experience in tool development and automation using C++ and/or Python.
- Strong understanding of content performance/memory optimization process and procedures.
- Experience working within content creation software (Blender, Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter).
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome complex technical challenges and drive innovation in technology.
- Demonstrated commitment to taking ownership, setting goals, exchanging knowledge and driving initiatives independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have:

- Solid understanding of GPU workflows (lighting, rendering, compute shaders), especially using Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience in network automation, batching, and packaged environment setups.
Additional Information
For this role you can choose between a remote-first or office-first working mode.
- Office-First: working primarily from the Warsaw, Wroclaw, or Cracow office for a minimum of 10 days per month.
- Remote-First: working from home, or from any location that is within 3 hours of the GMT+3 time zone.
