Join Aprio’s Wealth Management team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Trader to join their dynamic team.

Aprio is a growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) ambitiously scaling over five years. To achieve this vision, we are expanding our team of wealth advisors, merging with advisor practices, and integrating other RIAs into our platform.

Aprio is seeking an exceptional Senior Trader to join the team, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).  The Senior Trader will play a critical role in creating scalable, technology-driven systems and processes that enable our growth while maintaining excellence in service and execution.

The ideal candidate is a CFA charter holder with at least 5 years of trading experience in an RIA environment, with a minimum of 5 years working on the Orion trading platform, including extensive experience with Eclipse. Additionally, they must be highly proficient with both the Fidelity and Schwab custodial platforms.

This is a unique opportunity for an “A” player with deep expertise in designing and deploying technology-enabled, repeatable trading processes. The candidate will have expertise in scaling trading operations, selecting and implementing best-in-class trading systems, and optimizing processes to reduce waste.  Experience in supporting M&A activity, integrating trading functions post-merger, and minimizing tax implications for clients is also required.

If you thrive in high-growth environments, are passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems, and excel at building scalable systems, we want to hear from you.

Position Responsibilities: Trading Operations Leadership

  • Scale trading operations to support the firm’s plan of growing AUM 7-fold over 5 years.
  • Manage and mentor high-performing traders, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Develop and implement trading workflows that reduce errors, rework, and wasted time.

Position Responsibilities: Technology and Systems Deployment

  • Leverage expertise in the Orion platform, particularly Eclipse, to optimize trading processes and workflows.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement cutting-edge trading platforms and tools to support scalable, efficient operations.
  • Introduce AI into trading operations and workflows.
  • Seamlessly integrate trading system, portfolio management system and CRM platforms to create end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and technology to reduce manual tasks and enhance accuracy.

Position Responsibilities: Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement standardized, repeatable trading processes to support scalability and consistency.  Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to optimize resource utilization and team capacity.
  • Establish KPIs and operational benchmarks to measure performance and track progress.

Position Responsibilities: M&A Integration and Tax Optimization

  • Lead trading operations integration for newly acquired RIAs and advisor practices.
  • Evaluate trading system and operations pre-merger.
  • Ensure trading workflows are standardized and aligned post-merger.
  • Collaborate with wealth advisors and the investment team to develop tax-efficient trading strategies that minimize client tax implications.

Position Responsibilities: Compliance and Risk Management

  • Partner with compliance to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and trading best practices.
  • Implement controls to mitigate operational risks, including trade errors and execution delays.

Qualifications: Key Competencies

  • Technologically Forward: This is mandatory.  Deep expertise in trading systems and platforms, including Orion Eclipse, with a proven track record of leveraging technology for efficiency and scalability.
  • Execution-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to execute on complex projects with precision and measurable results.  Speed matters.
  • Systems Builder: Skilled in designing and implementing repeatable processes that support rapid growth.
  • Investment Expertise: Deep understanding of public equities and private markets, with a proven ability to identify and execute high-return opportunities.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate complex investment ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinker: Capable of balancing day-to-day trading operations with long-term needs.
  • Client-Focused: Committed to delivering optimal outcomes for internal and external clients, including tax efficiency and execution quality.
  • Results-driven, operations-focused and detail-oriented.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Aligned with the firm’s mission to deliver an elite client experience.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

  • CFA charter holder required.
  • 5+ years of trading experience within an RIA, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Orion trading platform, including Eclipse.
  • Proven success in scaling trading operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and operational experience with both Fidelity and Schwab custodial platforms.
