About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Content and Social Media Manager to strategically lead our social media presence on LinkedIn and online. As a fast-growing AI B2B SaaS scale-up, we need someone who can quickly improve social engagement and promote thoughtful content that drives measurable impact on top-of-funnel (ToFu) metrics like reach, engagement, and brand awareness.
The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical – able to craft compelling posts and campaigns that resonate with business audiences, while also using data to refine strategies and demonstrate ROI. In this role, you will own the social content strategy end-to-end, working cross-functionally to amplify our message and turn technical insights into engaging social content for our target audience.
Outstanding candidates have referenceable experience developing social strategies for new products for SaaS or technology start-ups. The goal is to optimize and amplify a best-in-class, impactful and innovative social campaign that supports Shelf from our to Series C, D, IPO, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals, with primary emphasis on LinkedIn and Threads for B2B audience engagement. Continually refine the strategy based on performance insights and emerging trends in the B2B tech space.
Content Planning & Creation: Plan and manage a detailed social media content calendar to ensure a consistent cadence of daily posts and timely content around product launches, events, and industry trends. Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily – including thoughtful text posts, images/graphics, and short videos – that adheres to our brand voice and quality standards..
Community Management: Proactively monitor and engage with our social community. Communicate with followers and respond to comments or inquiries in a timely, professional manner to foster a positive dialogue. Cultivate relationships by managing LinkedIn group interactions and Threads conversations, thus enhancing our brand’s approachability and trust.
Paid Social Promotion: Plan and implement paid social media campaigns to amplify high-value content and expand our reach. Manage sponsored content and advertising on LinkedIn (and future paid promotion on Threads) including budgeting, audience targeting, and performance optimization. Create, manage, and optimize paid ad campaigns in line with marketing goals, ensuring optimal ROI on spend.
Analytics & Reporting: Track and analyze social media metrics and report on growth, engagement, and ROI for all campaigns. Use social media analytics tools to derive insights (impressions, CTR, follower growth, etc.) and regularly update the team on progress against ToFu goals. Set specific objectives and report on social performance (e.g. monthly engagement rates, lead referrals) to inform strategy adjustments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the broader marketing team and other departments to ensure social content supports overall campaigns and product messaging. Collaborate with internal stakeholders – including product marketing, design, sales, and subject matter experts – to source content ideas and align posts with product launches, events, and company news. This includes coordinating with designers to produce on-brand visuals and with executives for thought leadership amplification.
Thought Leadership & Brand Voice: Elevate the company’s thought leadership by partnering with executives and industry experts to craft and promote insightful content. Leverage their expertise to create opinionated, value-adding posts that build credibility and spark conversation in the market. Ensure all social media content reflects a consistent, professional tone and our brand’s point of view.
Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with current social media trends, platform updates, and best practices relevant to B2B audiences. Experiment with new content formats, features, and tactics (e.g. LinkedIn polls, Threads trends) to continually improve engagement. Suggest and implement innovative social campaigns or promotions that boost brand awareness (such as limited-time contests or interactive posts) while maintaining alignment with our brand values.
Social Governance: Oversee the presentation of our social media profiles (e.g. LinkedIn page info and visuals) to ensure they are well-designed and up-to-date. Uphold brand consistency and compliance across all posts. Monitor for any reputational issues on social channels and coordinate with leadership to address sensitive communications if they arise, maintaining our company’s professional image.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5+ years of full-time experience in social media marketing AND content marketing in B2B SaaS. A proven track record of managing social media for a B2B brand and achieving growth and engagement targets is required
B2B Social Media Expertise: Deep understanding of LinkedIn’s algorithm, features, and best practices for professional engagement. Familiarity with emerging platforms such as Threads and how to leverage them for business audiences. Ability to translate technical or complex concepts into compelling social media content that resonates with decision-makers and industry professionals.
Content Creation Skills: Exceptional business writing and copywriting skills with meticulous attention to detail. Capable of crafting clear, engaging copy in a tone appropriate for a B2B audience. Experience developing thought leadership content (e.g. crafting posts from executive insights or industry research) is highly valued.. Strong editorial sense to maintain voice consistency across posts.
Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to develop social media strategies and content calendars that drive results. Proficient in setting KPIs and using analytics to inform decisions – comfortable with social media insights tools and data analysis to optimize performance (e.g. tracking engagement rates, follower growth, click-through rates. Experience measuring top-of-funnel metrics and linking social activities to broader marketing goals is important.
Paid Social Experience: Hands-on experience running paid social campaigns on LinkedIn or similar platforms. Knowledge of advertising tools (LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Facebook/Instagram Ads, etc.) and budget management for social ad campaigns to maximize ROI. Ability to identify target audiences and tailor paid content for lead generation and awareness objectives.
Tools & Technical Skills: Proficiency with social media management and scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social for efficient content scheduling and monitoring. Basic skills in graphic design or video editing (or the ability to work effectively with creative teams) to ensure posts are visually appealing. Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar web analytics is a plus for tracking social traffic and conversions.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the professionalism to represent the company in public social forums. Highly organized and able to manage a content calendar, multiple campaigns, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Creative thinker with a problem-solving attitude and keen attention to detail. Collaborative team player who can work cross-functionally and also take ownership of projects independently. Adaptable and up-to-date with the fast-evolving social media landscape, especially in B2B marketing.

Location:
Remote work in the San Francisco Bay Area or NYC Metro Area with travel to Stamford, CT as needed.
