Engineering at Ada
Intermediate AI Engineers at Ada build scalable systems and work with LLMs. We own well defined components, write maintainable and well tested code and collaborate with product and design to deliver features that improve reliability, latency, and customer outcomes for our AI Agent. Our AI agent is powered by the Reasoning Engine, which grounds answers in each customer’s knowledge and policies and composes responses from retrieved context.
Our Role
As an Intermediate Software Engineer you focus on Ada’s Reasoning Engine. The engine retrieves the best first party content, grounds the LLM in that context, and generates replies to answer support questions for our clients.
- Ship well tested code with clear PR validation steps. Add unit and integration tests. Help define and meet SLOs. Document edge cases and risks. Tackle technical debt within your scope.
- Deliver features and fixes on time. Demo work and communicate value. Reduce friction for the team by improving build, test, and deploy loops. Help improve Automated Resolution by raising reliability and latency in high traffic paths.
- Seek feedback and apply it. Share learnings in docs and meetings. Stay current on our stack and LLM advances. Build strong relationships and offer help when teammates are blocked.
About You
- 2+ years of experience as a Developer
- Proficient with backend technologies (Python and Node.js, Javascript is an asset)
- Understanding of databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch and in-memory stores such as Redis
- Experience with 3rd party LLMs, such as GPT, Azure, Anthropic ect.
- Experience deploying code and strong developer operations
- Commitment to personal growth and continued learning
- Drive and willingness to make the people around you better
- Self-starter, problem solver and strong communicator
- Experience working with public APIs to build reliable third-party integrations

- Execute on our ambitious product roadmap
- Provide your perspective and ideas to help level up our current development practices
- Review the team’s code, provide insightful feedback, foster collaborative community and teach everyone something new
- Ensure that the team is providing the best AI Agent platform experience to our internal developers and external partners
- Participate in an on-call rotation for the services the team owns, triaging and addressing production issues
