Job description

The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (SGBFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support each other through four initiatives: LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.

We’re looking for a strategic, mission-driven professional to join the Office of the CEO. This high-impact role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the CEO, including shadowing her at meetings, driving priority projects, and conducting research to inform decisions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, comfortable managing cross-functional projects, and eager to support both big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, think critically, and care deeply about advancing our mission, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Attend key meetings alongside the CEO for insight on key priorities and workstreams. This hire will also have the opportunity to lead Leadership Team Meetings.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure that CEO-led projects are on track, she is getting the right level of insight, and teams are getting what they need to be successful.
  • Review draft strategy, messaging, and planning docs and provide input to working teams.
  • Create briefs for meetings and events (e.g., identifying goals and talking points, providing background on attendees and existing business relationships, summarizing opportunities for Lean In to work with external partners, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Comms team on external speaking engagements, op-eds, and other thought leadership.
  • Draft and review communications on behalf of the CEO.
  • Complete research to inform strategic decisions and initiatives, such as sizing target markets and identifying potential partners.
  • Manage special projects for the Office of the CEO.
  • Oversight of board meeting scheduling and planning and ongoing board communication, including quarterly updates with key metrics.
  • Manage the CEO’s schedule to maximize her time on key business priorities.
  • Create briefs, bookings, expense reports, etc. for CEO travel (approx. 1 trip/quarter).

What You Will Bring

  • At least four years of work experience, preferably in consulting, technology or politics
  • Significant experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Advanced organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with experience drawing data-informed insights and recommendations
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to provide three professional writing samples
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives and managing up
  • Growth mindset and willingness to “play high and play low”
  • Personal commitment to the missions of Lean In and Option B

What We Will Offer You

  • The base salary for this role varies by location: $112,500-118,800 (National) / $125,000-$132,000 (Bay Area/New York Metro), with the final amount depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, full-time employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 10% of their annual salary.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with 4% employer match, unlimited PTO, and more!
  • A remote-first work environment with flexible scheduling.
  • A mission-driven team that values inclusion, collaboration, and growth.

Important information

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis - early submission is encouraged. Cover letters are highly encouraged as well.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • If your application is a good match, our team will reach out to schedule an interview. If you’re no longer under consideration, you’ll receive an email update. We truly appreciate your interest, and due to the high application volume, we may not be able to personally communicate with everyone who applies.
