Job description
Why Now
2025 has been a breakout year for Doppler. We’ve helped over 50,00 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale, and landed our first million-dollar customer. We’ve shipped some of our most exciting features yet, expanded our customer base, and sharpened our focus like never before. With a strong foundation in community, we’re scaling and monetizing with ambitious goals across product, growth, sales, and hiring. The momentum is real, and we’re just getting started.
About Doppler
Doppler’s mission is to make it easy and secure for developers of every experience level and teams of any size to manage their app configuration and secrets. But hasn’t this been done?
Developers tend to be either struggling with the manual management of .env files, or wrestling with an overly complex secrets manager that’s not built for software development. Doppler is changing that by making app configuration and secrets management easy, intuitive, and scalable. It’s the SecretOps platform built by developers for developers.
Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time.
Who We Are
Doppler is a SecretOps platform that enables developers and security teams to keep their secrets secure and in sync wherever they run their code. SecretOps is the set of security philosophies, frameworks, and tools used to operationalize secrets at scale.
The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to drive day-to-day execution and delivery of our core product roadmap. You won’t be responsible for setting the vision — we’ve got that covered. Your job is to make sure the right things get built, the right way, at the right time.
Reporting into the CEO, you’ll work closely with our Head of Engineering and Head of Design to turn high-level strategy into clean specs, well-scoped tickets, and shipped product. You’ll be the connective tissue between product, design, and engineering helping to keep everyone focused, unblocked, and moving forward. You will spearhead initiatives that address challenges engineering teams face while expanding our offering to cater to developers at all levels of expertise.
About the Team
We’re a security-first organization that genuinely cares about the quality of what we build. We collaborate with as little ego as humanly possible and are constantly trying to improve how we work and deliver software.
What you’ll do:
Own execution of the product roadmap by turning high-level goals into clear, actionable work
Take features from idea to launch - writing specs, collaborating with design and engineering, making tradeoffs, and keeping stakeholders informed
Write and maintain clean, detailed tickets and product documentation in tools like Linear and Notion
Partner with engineering and design to research, scope work, plan sprints, and track delivery
QA new features before they ship to make sure they meet requirements and are ready for production
Share updates proactively so everyone stays aligned on timelines, progress, and decisions
Regularly talk to customers, internal teams, and partners to gather insights and turn them into clear plans
Balance short-term customer needs with the long-term direction of the product
Use data and feedback to evaluate feature performance and continuously improve
Champion a developer-first and security-first mindset in everything you help build
What you’ll bring to the table:
2–4+ years of experience in a product owner, technical product manager, or similar execution-focused role
Strong technical fluency and a solid grasp of how software is built, tested, and shipped
Experience working closely with engineers and designers to turn ideas into shipped features
Comfortable breaking down high-level problems into well-scoped, actionable plans
A track record of delivering features that improve both the user experience and business outcomes
Confident working independently in a startup environment with little hand-holding
Familiarity with tools like Linear, Notion, and Figma
A bias for action, low ego, and willingness to say “I don’t know” when needed
A love of bringing clarity to chaos and keeping teams aligned and focused
Data-informed mindset with an ability to define and measure success. Experience with SQL is a plus
Bonus: Familiarity with the secrets management space or related developer infrastructure tools

We’ve built a great product our customers love. Our churn is low, and active usage continues to rise. We just need to amplify our reach to educate the market that secrets management can be fast, secure, and affordable for teams and organizations of any size. And most importantly, we need to continue encouraging Developers to stop adhering to archaic insecure standards such as manually managing .env file formats.
Are you passionate about developer-focused products and ready to join an amazing team? Then we want to hear from you!
A final note - we highly encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don’t feel entirely qualified, or entirely sure. You never know!
