About You
We are seeking a technically fluent, detail-oriented Web Project Manager Consultant to help guide the successful execution of development-focused projects across the agency. This role is instrumental in aligning backend requirements, tracking technical dependencies, and supporting clear communication between engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders. In addition to managing technical project workflows, this role ensures backend systems are understood, scoped, and delivered on time and within scope. While not client-facing, it requires strong technical understanding, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to translate complex systems into actionable plans that keep cross-functional teams aligned and moving forward.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Web Project Manager Consultant, you will oversee backend site management across Drupal, Webflow, and WordPress platforms. This includes content entry, page setup, component configuration, and coordination of technical requirements such as SEO, tagging, and analytics. You will also lead web project workflows, working closely with design, copy, and development teams to ensure clear communication, smooth handoffs and timely delivery across all phases of execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience working within Figma to finalize and clarify design structure for development handoff is essential.
Flexibility to work 8-10 hours/week starting ASAP. Based out of the US to work remotely and adjust working hours to align with ET or PT time zones.
Technical Fluency
We are especially interested in candidates who can:
- Understand backend CMS configuration and its implications on performance, accessibility, and functionality.
- Liaise fluently with developers, offering structured input on timelines, blockers, and task dependencies.
- Navigate the development workflows, from staging environments to production deployment, with an eye for QA and implementation risk.
- Proactively flag technical risks and work with engineering leads to address trade-offs in architecture or tooling.
What you’ll be doing
Content Management:
- Understand and manage how backend configurations, CMS architecture, and hosting environments affect content deployment, site performance, and SEO.
- Perform content entry and updates on the backend of Webflow, Drupal and WordPress platforms.
- Build and structure web pages according to project requirements.
- Tag content appropriately to ensure accurate categorization and discoverability.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure smooth integration of content and functionality.
Project Management:
- Lead the planning and coordination of technical implementation tasks alongside developers, ensuring that all backend considerations, system dependencies, and development timelines are integrated into project scopes and deliverables.
- Utilize project management tools such as Asana and Slack to coordinate tasks and communicate progress.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, including reporting on task completion, project milestones, and potential blockers.
- Translate functional requirements into clear technical documentation and coordinate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with best practices.
- Identify and communicate any considerations or issues related to backend functionality affecting the frontend display of content.
- Act as a liaison between design, copy, and development teams, ensuring effective collaboration and efficient project delivery.
- Participate in scoping conversations with developers to identify constraints, architectural implications, and resource needs for upcoming work.
Design Collaboration:
- Review design files in Figma to ensure alignment with web standards, CMS structure, and developer implementation needs.
- Proactively identify structural or functional ambiguities in Figma and collaborate with design, UX, and development teams to clarify requirements.
- Ensure designs are prepared for development by confirming consistent component usage, proper naming conventions, and responsive breakpoints.
- Translate design intentions into technical notes or requirements to minimize development questions and ensure a smooth build process.
Client Communication:
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their queries and concerns.
- Provide support and guidance on backend functionality and content management-related questions.
- Collaborate with clients to gather project requirements, feedback, and approvals.
What you’ll bring :
- Previous experience working as a Web Administrator and Project Manager, preferably in an agency environment.
- Proficiency in Drupal, Webflow and WordPress backends, including content entry, structuring pages, and tagging content.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to organize tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable discussing technical trade-offs, interpreting development timelines, and understanding backend workflows, including code deployment, version control, database dependencies, and plugin/module conflicts.
- Familiarity with web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, hosting environments, or Git workflows) is a strong plus, even if not hands-on coding.
- Familiarity with project management tools, such as Asana and Slack, for efficient task coordination and communication.
- Experience using Figma to review, interpret, and validate web designs for development. Ability to identify structural or interaction gaps and ask the right questions to ensure developers receive clear, implementable designs.
- Availability to work approximately half of the 5 hours/week on project management duties.
- Flexibility to work 8-10 hours/week starting ASAP.
- Ability to work remotely and adjust working hours to align with ET or PT time zones.
- Client-facing experience is highly desirable.
