What’s the role?

Huge is seeking a highly experienced Technical Lead to drive the evolution and innovation of a critical, established platform. In this role leading a talented engineering team to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions. Your focus will be on fostering a culture of technical excellence, driving strategic architectural decisions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to guide the team through complex challenges, optimize workflows, and integrate AI/ML to find efficiencies, while maintaining the stability and security of a mature application.

What you’ll be doing

  • Advocate for technical solutions that deliver measurable business value, and contribute to product roadmap planning.
  • Partner closely with product managers to define technical requirements, translate product roadmaps into actionable development plans, and ensure alignment between technical implementation and product vision.
  • Present project statuses, technical solutions, and progress reports to senior leadership stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Make critical technical decisions, balancing innovation with stability, security, and scalability, and translate business requirements into technical strategies and solutions.
  • Lead efforts to improve maintainability, scalability, and extensibility, champion best practices in software development, security, and cloud architecture, and improve the security posture.
  • Quickly identify critical capabilities, gaps, and architectural roadblocks, and communicate them to the team while providing alternate approaches.
  • Create detailed architectural blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation that articulate the proposed solutions.
  • Lead and mentor technical teams throughout the development lifecycle, providing guidance on best practices, system design, and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to prototype, validate, and optimize models and algorithms.
  • Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of components, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and performance goals.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the solutions domain, staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
  • Collaborate closely with creative teams and UI engineers to define technically efficient solutions that align with design concepts and user experience goals.

What we’d like to see

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years leading large-scale technology engagements.
  • A strong track record of making sound technical decisions in challenging environments.
  • Deep understanding of security best practices and experience with security audits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • A demonstrated product mindset, with the ability to translate technical outcomes into business value.
  • Familiar with agile methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience managing marketing website projects
  • Experience leading teams leveraging TypeScript for scalable and robust applications.
  • Clear understanding of MACH base architecture
  • Extensive experience with JAMstack
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Appreciation for design and user experience and its importance to the final delivered solution.
  • Vast experience with Headless CMS (KontentAI is a plus)
  • Accessibility and performance optimization experience
  • Experience with Vercel and Conscia
  • Integration experience with Algolia, Hubspot, and/or Salesforce
