Job description

UI/UX Designer with WordPress Block Knowledge & Figma Expertise (Part-Time Contract, No Agencies)

Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer experienced in designing page layouts in Figma specifically for WordPress themes. You must have a thorough understanding of the WordPress block system so designs can incorporate WordPress blocks as components. In this role, you will collaborate with our Account Management team to produce iterative design updates for client websites, transforming existing front-end WordPress designs into polished Figma layouts. Since original design source files are often unavailable, the ability to recreate existing WordPress front-end designs in Figma is essential.

No agencies or recruiters. If you attempt to contact our hiring managers directly—outside of this platform or any other designated channels—you will be disqualified.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate existing WordPress front-end designs into Figma layouts, even without original source files

  • Incorporate the WordPress block system into Figma components to ensure designs are practical and straightforward to implement

  • Collaborate with the Account Management team in iterative feedback loops, delivering regular updates

  • Maintain a user-centric approach, ensuring all designs are visually engaging, intuitive, and aligned with client branding

  • Communicate clearly and reliably within a remote, deadline-driven environment

  • Quickly adapt designs based on client feedback and evolving requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with UI/UX design for WordPress-based sites

  • Demonstrable expertise in Figma, including creation of robust design systems and components

  • Strong grasp of WordPress blocks and how to structure designs that align with block-based editing

  • Ability to recreate websites from existing WordPress front-ends with no design source files

  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with both clients and internal teams

  • Familiarity with best practices in responsive design and user experience

  • Availability to work part-time on a contract basis, as new projects arise

Compensation & Next Steps:

  • Compensation is project-based. Our next step toward consideration is to have you provide estimates for a few pending projects to gauge your expertise and style.

  • Please include relevant examples of your Figma work and any WordPress-related design projects in your submission.

If you’re a collaborative designer who thrives on delivering polished, user-friendly WordPress designs and who communicates effectively, we look forward to reviewing your portfolio. Remember, no agencies.
