About Zoic Studios
We founded Zoic Studios in Los Angeles in 2002 as a visual effects company. We deliver VFX for film, television, and advertising, specializing in visual effects, game engine technology, and real-time animation. We have studios in Los Angeles (our global headquarters with 150 artists), Vancouver (opened 2006, up to 175 artists), and New York City (opened 2016, up to 40 artists).
Our work includes films like Avengers: Age of Ultron, and television series such as Fargo, For All Mankind, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Ozark, Sweet Tooth, Superman & Lois, Stargirl, Secret Invasion, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Game of Thrones, Legion, Walking Dead, Warrior, Maniac, Defenders, Twilight Zone, and Deadly Class. We also create visual effects for brands like Jeep, Facebook, and Final Fantasy.
Through Zoic Labs, we develop platforms for data analytics and visualization, and design UI/UX for web, desktop, AR, VR, and app platforms. Zoic Labs works with government, DoD-related, and commercial clients. This division also builds integrated VFX and Machine Learning pipelines, and manages on-premise cloud infrastructure using OpenNebula and Kubernetes. We build our digital infrastructure to be flexible and resolution-independent, adapting quickly to project needs. We develop it with other visual technology firms.
Mission & Values
Our mission is “Visual Evolution”—we aim to evolve the story, art, and technology of the moving image to broaden its audience.
Our founding principles are partnership, integrity, and enthusiasm. We believe accountability and strong partnerships lead to honest outcomes. We love what we do, and we want to educate and encourage others to embrace change and collaborate on new creations.
We are fiercely independent, artist-owned, and operated.
Team & Culture
Our team has over 350 people across our offices, including artists and producers skilled in 3D, Compositing, and Production Management. Our leadership includes founders Chris Jones and Loni Peristere, along with Kristen Branan, Tim McBride, Saker Klippsten, and Aladino Debert in executive and director roles.
As an artist-led VFX studio, we focus on our artists’ needs, valuing our team and encouraging collaboration. A former employee described our culture as a “consent-based employer” that respects work-life boundaries, meaning we don’t require employees to work weekends without their consent.
