Job description
Civic Nation is seeking a Video Content Creator for its Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Production, the Video Content Creator will be responsible for editing and producing video content that aligns with the goals of Civic Nation and its initiatives. A strong candidate for this role will have the technical skills and strategic experience to edit, and manage video and motion graphics projects for all digital platforms, with an emphasis on optimizing content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
This is a contract-based, part-time (10-20 hours per week), remote opportunity ending in December 2025. This work will be paid monthly, determined by the agreed-upon weekly hours and rate. We welcome direct conversations about compensation in our initial calls.
ABOUT COMMUNICATIONS
The Communications Team is focused on telling the story of Civic Nation’s work. Through creative messaging, digital activations, media relations, and more, the Communications Team amplifies the work of all Civic Nation initiatives and campaigns.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES
- Develop innovative and compelling video content for Civic Nation and its initiatives that serves to empower, educate, and move viewers to take action.
- Produce and edit digital-first and rapid-response video content.
- Lead on brainstorming, scripting, and storyboard ideas.
- Use After Effects expertise to produce motion graphics videos.
- Oversee projects from start to finish.
- Communicate and work with outside vendors and crews where necessary.
- Project-manage, optimize, and execute video projects that advance the organization’s goals.
- Optimize video products for social media to maximize KPIs.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in video.
- Provide technical support and insight to the broader team around video editing and best practices.
DESIRED BACKGROUND
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience producing, shooting, and editing video content.
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere, and After Effects.
- Experience working with Adobe After Effects to build animations and motion graphics from scratch.
- Experience in sound editing, color correction.
- Strong visual storytelling skills.
- Experience shooting interviews, events, and creative b-roll.
- Ability to produce rapid response creative content with tight turnarounds.
- Strong script-writing and proofreading skills.
