Outschool

Outschool, founded in 2015, runs an online education platform that offers live video, small-group classes for kids. Independent teachers lead these classes, allowing children to explore various interests.\n\nWe also partner with employers through Outschool for Employers and with schools and districts via Outschool for Schools for enrichment, tutoring, and elective options.\n\nWe use technologies like TypeScript, React, GraphQL/Apollo, Node, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch for marketplace search, along with Python ML models for class search and recommendations. We operate in the technology, information, and internet sectors.

Our mission at Outschool is to inspire kids to love learning by offering flexible, engaging online experiences. We value urgency, curiosity, and impact.\n\nWe also promote continuous learning and focus on maintaining trust, especially in our product experiences and platform safety.

We have 51-200 employees and operate as a remote-first organization, with our team distributed across the U.S., Canada, and Korea. While we are remote-friendly, we maintain an office in San Francisco for hybrid work and a co-working office in Busan, South Korea. Our culture supports an iterative, test-and-learn approach to product development. Our teams are cross-functional, collaborating across product, engineering, marketing, trust and safety, and operations.
