Job description
Pagemasters, a division of The Canadian Press, has an opening for a part-time Video Editor who can compile and edit video material into quality, finalized product for our clients. This position is remote but the successful applicant must reside in the province of Ontario and can commute to the Toronto office for meetings occasionally.
Responsibilities
Using material provided by the client, you will:
- Assemble short videos
- Isolate relevant portions from longer clips to create a coherent narrative, and cover cuts with appropriate b-roll or transitions
- Work with branding elements, adjusting names, titles, etc. where appropriate
- Export to final video and perform revisions as requested by client
- Post finished clips to client’s content management system, or via internal methods
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven non-linear editing experience; Adobe Premiere preferred
- Knowledge of PhotoShop, After Effects and Apple Motion a plus
- Appreciation for timing and composition
- Attention to detail
- Strong technical skills, familiarity with Mac
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task under tight deadline pressure with speed and accuracy
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, and occasional weekends and statutory holidays.
