As such, we are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Vice President, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Generative AI to spearhead our ML and AI strategy, deliver tangible business value and innovation across the organization. You will build, mentor, and inspire a world-class team of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ethical AI development, and continuous delivery.
This pivotal role demands deep AI expertise, a proven track record of solving complex business challenges with cutting-edge technology, and the ability to translate advanced concepts into actionable strategies for executive leadership.
What we are looking for:
You bring a minimum of 15 years experience in leadership spanning Business Management, Strategy, Operations and technical areas such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and software engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Strategy: Design holistic, impactful and forward looking AI strategy that aligns data science, ML, and generative AI initiatives with business goals. Actively manage and prioritize high-impact opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation.
- Build and Lead High-Performing Teams: Recruit, mentor, and manage data science, machine learning, and AI teams, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture with clear objectives and continuous feedback.
- Measure and Optimize Impact: Define and track KPIs to assess the success of AI initiatives, delivering actionable insights and driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee Project Lifecycles: Manage end-to-end data science and ML projects, from problem definition to model optimization, ensuring adoption of advanced techniques and scalable infrastructure.
- Drive Strategic Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional and senior leaders to translate business needs into AI solutions, communicate complex concepts, and advocate for technology investments.
- Promote Generative AI Adoption: Educate and inspire employees on generative AI’s benefits, delivering compelling presentations and motivating organizational change.
- Champion Advanced AI and MLOps: Lead the implementation of cutting-edge ML techniques and robust MLOps practices to ensure scalable, reliable AI solutions.
- Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging AI technologies, providing strategic recommendations and leading adoption where beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Education: We’re looking for a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: Bring 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in data science, machine learning, and AI, including at least 7 years in a senior leadership or management role overseeing large-scale data science or ML teams.
- Broader AI Leadership: Demonstrate deep expertise and hands-on experience over time across a wide spectrum of machine learning techniques and applications, from classical algorithms to cutting-edge deep learning models leveraged in recommendation systems, auction, sort, pricing, marketing optimization
- Generative AI Expertise: Possess strong practical experience and strategic understanding of Generative AI (e.g., LLMs, Transformers, diffusion models, GANs), encompassing fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and critical ethical considerations.
- Business impact and solution orientation: Showcase a proven track record of successfully delivering impactful AI/ML solutions that have directly driven significant business value.
- Leadership & Influence: Exhibit exceptional leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence at a senior level, collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strategic Communication: Possess outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical executive stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Have an understanding of core data science programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and relevant libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face) to guide and oversee team’s technical direction
- Cloud & MLOps Acumen: Have substantial experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services, coupled with a deep understanding of MLOps principles for deploying and managing ML models at scale.

The salary range for this role is $340,000 to $370,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may
ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education,
qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the
future.
