As a Returns, Loss and Abuse Associate Analyst, you will be pivotal in safeguarding our business from financial loss due to fraudulent activities and abuse. Your role will involve analyzing transaction patterns, identifying potential fraud indicators, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk. You will report to the fraud, loss and abuse specialist, and work closely with various departments, including marketing, promotions, and legal teams, to ensure comprehensive fraud prevention and detection.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
- You will partner with the Fraud Loss and Abuse Specialist to build exception-based reporting defining and implementing risk mitigation and fraud detection on various projects throughout the business
- Use previous planning and promotions knowledge to build scalable dashboards, scorecards, and monitoring tools using current data visualization tools around:
- Loss exposure, flagged transactions, and fraud risk KPIs
- Promotional usage/misuse
- Loyalty program redemption patterns and irregularities
- T&E spend vs. policy monitoring
- RFID loss and count data
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting, dashboards, and visualizations to key stakeholders, enabling them to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Establish post-control implementation monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures
- Create repeatable reporting frameworks, automated refreshes, and underlying data models
- Maintain data integrity and establish quality checks for fraud metrics
- Work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment with other business owners, project leaders, and team members
What Do You Need To Bring?
- 4-year degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or Marketing preferred
- Experience building analytics dashboards and reporting that enables a positive user experience
- Experience using PowerBI, SQL & advanced Excel preferred but not required
- Experience in planning and promotions, with a comprehensive understanding of promotional setup as well as pricing and product discount strategies within planning processes
- Experience with data structures, analytics, and data visualization
- Ability to recognize suspicious behavior patterns in loyalty, discounting, or promotional mechanics
- Exceptional communication skills that enable clear articulation of vision, strategy, and execution
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills with data-driven approach to decision-making
- Strong prioritization and focus, including comfort making tradeoffs with incomplete information
- Ability to rapidly understand user needs, respond to tight deadlines, and deliver solutions that drive key business metrics
