We’re seeking an entrepreneurial and culture-focused leader to oversee the product organization at Actian. This role will report to our Chief Product Officer. This is your opportunity to shape the future of Actian in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment. You will partner with the CPO and product line leaders to shape product vision while serving as the driving force behind how the product organization operates. This means owning team culture, organizational design, and the rituals and processes that enable high-performing teams. You’ll be the internal champion who ensures the product organization is structured, motivated, and aligned to deliver business impact. This role may not be the right fit if you prefer stable, well-defined processes over ambiguity, or if you’re more comfortable executing a vision than shaping one.
What You’ll Do
- Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented team of product leaders with a broad range of experiences, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds
- Understand Actian’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry
- Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on strategies and priorities leading to product execution
- Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
- Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure org is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals
- Partner with Go-to-Market teams to position our value proposition, influence product messaging, and ensure clarity of our product vision and strategy internally and externally.
Who You Are
- 20+ years in the software industry, with at least 12 years in product management
- 8+ years in senior leadership roles (Director+) with direct ownership of product vision and strategy, and a track record of hiring, leading, and scaling cross-functional teams across geographies
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to set the broad outlook while providing detailed operational and strategic direction.
- Highly technical and demonstrated track record of complex product work and outbound customer work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building 0-1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces
- Ability to cultivate a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence.
- Experience with thought leadership and creating high-quality products and services that reach millions of end users.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships across complex organizations.
- Familiarity with the data management landscape (databases, data integration, analytics platforms, or cloud data services) will significantly accelerate your impact.
