We are hiring a Utilization Review Clinician for our growing team! The Utilization Review Clinician is to facilitate the provision of efficient chemical dependency services to clients and providers through monitoring, evaluation, and influencing processes that impact the delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial, concurrent, and retrospective reviews utilizing concurrent review forms and/or medical notes, clinical notes, medication lists, and/or other information in the electronic medical record to ensure that all services have been delivered
  • Confer with medical, clinical, and other staff to determine legitimacy of treatment and length of stay
  • Analyze insurance, governmental, and accrediting standards to determine criteria concerning admissions, treatment, and length of client stay
  • Participate in all state and staff regulatory training as required
  • Maintain accurate data for assigned facility
  • Be willing to learn in detail about ASAM levels of care
  • Demonstrate outstanding, prompt, and polite communication skills; UR tasks rely heavily on phone calls and email communication
  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills and respond quickly to administrative complications and requests
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • The UR Clinician is expected to protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care LLC/Odyssey INC’s  privacy policies, procedures and practices,  as required by federal and state law, in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred
  • Credentialed Counselor (LPCA, LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT In Kentucky)
  • Independent licensure preferred
  • Past administrative experience required
  • Experience delivering lectures on addiction and conducting group sessions.
  • Substance abuse experience preferred.
  • Appropriate State and Federal Clearances

Other Qualifications to be Considered:

  • Licensure to practice clinical discipline in the state of Kentucky, as applicable, required in Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor and/or Certified Addiction Professional.
