Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst

Job Description
The Sr. Business Data Analyst will provide data governance and analytics support to USMS by implementing and maintaining effective data governance frameworks and compliance while also delivering insightful business intelligence reports designed to empower informed decision makers.
Education and Background
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning.
o 5+ years of experience with data architecture, data management, data analysis, IT process reengineering, systems analysis, design, and implementation, and data modeling.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Management Responsibilities:
- Develop, refine, and implement organization-wide data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate and work with business users and IT partners to remediate identified gaps, using both manual and automated solutions.
- Conduct regular data audits and assessments to identify and rectify data issues and discrepancies.
- Provide consultation and direct support to product owners, developers, business analysts, end users, and other customers to further data governance program initiatives.
- Create, refine, and document team business processes (e.g., in Standard Operating Procedures and/or process diagrams) in a highly flexible environment.
- Coordinate with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines. Technical Responsibilities:
- Perform data cleansing and standardization (e.g., removing duplicates, sanitization), assessing data quality, and eliminating irrelevant data to identify and interpret data patterns and trends.
- Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to modern databases.
- Assess data repositories for compliance with data governance policies and standards.
- Create database queries using ANSI SQL or other programming languages.
- Create reports/dashboards leveraging Power BI.
- Analyze data from various systems and formats and audit databases regularly to maintain data quality.
- Ensure data integrity and data standards within databases.
- Provide enterprise data solutions and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Maintain current databases and database objects.
- Identify areas for improvement in the current process.
- Recommend processes and create reports to continuously monitor data quality.

Hands-on experience with:
o Data migration/integration of multiple data sources into a single repository.
o Data Analysis
o SQL programming language (e.g., ANSI SQL)
Familiarity with:
o Reporting/ad-hoc analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI
Knowledge of:
o Master Data Management principles
o Data Integration and Data Migration
o Microsoft Power Apps
Expert knowledge of:
o MS Office Suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint)
o Excellent communication, consultation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
Able to:
o Contribute to creating, refining, and documenting team business processes (e.g., in SOPs, design documents, process diagrams, etc.) in a highly flexible environment.
o Be flexible and able to thrive in a time-sensitive environment to meet strict deadlines with sudden and unpredictable needs.
o Independently synthesize unstructured feedback from stakeholders and consider relevant data to present quality business solutions.
- Proven problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to think out of the box and generate creative solutions; ability to break a complex problem down into its component parts and arrive at the appropriate solution in a timely fashion.

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of external data standardization and exchange organizations such as NIEM, FBI CJIS, and ISO.
Knowledge of SQL Server 2016 Master Data Services (MDS).
Knowledge of database and programming tools such as SQL Server and Visual Studio.
Knowledge of Amazon S3 and AWS Athena query tool.
Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio.
Work is primarily performed in a general office or remote environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and video conferencing systems. The work is largely sedentary but may require occasional standing or walking for meetings, presentations, or events (up to 10% of the time).
The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting, temperature control, and minimal exposure to noise, dust, or other hazards.
