Senior Manager, Operations Enablement

We are looking for a mission-driven, highly motivated leader to join our Core Operations team as the Sr. Manager, Operations Enablement. This role sits at the heart of how we prepare, educate, and empower our 200+ person Operations team, which supports Alma’s providers and their clients through the complexities of mental health insurance, ensuring they receive the support they need to navigate Alma’s platform. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Operations, you will lead a team of 6–8 enablement professionals—including instructional designers, trainers, and content strategists—while designing and executing scalable enablement strategies. These programs span onboarding, training, QA-informed education, and content management that keep our team performing at its best, all through rapid change and growth.

As a founding member of a new, centralized enablement function within Operations, you will serve as a strategic partner to Ops Leadership and work closely with leaders across Product, Marketing, and People & Culture. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of ownership, cares deeply about performance and impact, and thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. They are an early adopter of modern tools—including AI—to accelerate program design, synthesize complex information, and surface insights, always ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals. They bring clarity to complexity and know how to translate messy, cross-functional challenges into simple, scalable solutions—all while developing and motivating a high-performing team.

This is an exciting time to join Alma: we are scaling quickly, building new capabilities, and investing deeply in how we grow and support our people so they can deliver exceptional experiences to our provider community and their clients. In the months ahead, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how enablement lives within Operations—and see your programs directly influence performance outcomes at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop a team of 6–8 enablement professionals (instructional designers, trainers, content strategists) to drive a unified, cohesive enablement strategy that manages dependencies, streamlines priorities, and guarantees quality and continuity across all enablement touchpoints.
  • Partner with Operations leaders to create a strategy and roadmap for the future of Enablement on Operations, analyzing performance trends and workforce needs to proactively address knowledge or execution gaps.
  • Own the Operations enablement lifecycle end-to-end, setting goals, driving timelines, removing blockers, and aligning stakeholders to ensure high-impact deliverables are shipped on time
  • Translate product, policy, and org-level changes into effective team enablement plans that include training, documentation, communication plans, and QA improvement strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional enablement initiatives in partnership with our Learning and Development team and Operations leadership ensuring Ops enablement remains fully aligned with Alma’s company-wide L&D strategy.
  • Motivate and influence the broader team to embrace a strong learning culture, supporting education initiatives across the Operations team as needed.

Who You Are:

  • You have 6–8 years of work experience in learning & development and/or enablement, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Start-up or healthcare experience is a plus, but not required.
  • You have prior people management experience, leading multi-disciplinary teams and developing others’ skills and careers.
  • You are an expert with content management software and learning management software such as Guru, Docebo, and Articulate 360 and have a track record of being an early adopter of tech tools to drive innovative solutions for your team.
  • You are relentlessly organized with meticulous attention to detail and exceptional project management skills.
  • You are passionate about mental health, our mission at Alma, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).
  • You have experience designing for scale and have worked with large or distributed teams (100+); you know what good looks like at scale.
