About the Job
As a Senior Solutions Consultant, Atlassian Cloud Migration Specialist at Oxalis, you will lead and deliver complex Atlassian Cloud migration initiatives for large and mission-critical organizations. This role is designed for a deeply technical consultant with hands-on experience migrating enterprise Atlassian environments to Atlassian Cloud—balancing technical rigor, risk management, and stakeholder confidence. You will work closely with customers to assess current-state environments, design migration strategies, execute migrations using Atlassian-supported tooling, and ensure post-migration success. Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a trusted advisor—helping organizations modernize their platforms while minimizing disruption and aligning outcomes to business goals. Like all Oxalis consultants, this role includes participation in pre-sales activities, solution shaping, and opportunity development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Delivery/Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Lead end-to-end Atlassian Cloud migration engagements for enterprise customers, from assessment and planning through execution and stabilization.
- Design migration strategies for Jira and Confluence using tools. such as Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA).
- Assess complex Atlassian environments, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Marketplace apps and custom configurations, workflows, permissions, automations, and integrations.
- Design future-state Atlassian Cloud architectures that are secure, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
- Perform advanced Jira and Confluence Cloud configuration and administration post migration.
- Analyze and rationalize apps, customizations, and integrations as part of cloud readiness.
- Leverage strong SQL and data analysis skills to validate data integrity, migration outcomes, and reporting accuracy.
- Assess and redesign integrations to cloud-native patterns using REST APIs, webhooks, and automation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory/Pre-Sales & Practice Growth
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for client stakeholders throughout migration efforts.
- Communicate migration risks, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate technical deep-dives, migration readiness workshops, and post-migration reviews.
- Support pre-sales engagements, including migration assessments, solution design, estimates, and proposal contributions.
- Help define and refine Oxalis’ Atlassian Cloud migration methodologies, accelerators, and best practices.
About You
- Proven experience leading enterprise Atlassian Cloud migrations.
- Deep hands-on experience with Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA).
- Strong expertise in Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence administration and configuration.
- Strong experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java), and the use of lightweight data tooling (e.g., SQLite3, Postgres) for data manipulation.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols and tools such as HTTP, ssh, DNS, security certs.
- Familiarity with identity provider platforms (IDP’s) such as Entra and Okta.
- Experience working with large-scale Jira and Confluence instances (high user counts, large datasets, complex configurations).
Preferred Qualification
- Atlassian Certified Professional or Associate certifications and experience with Atlassian Cloud governance, security, and compliance considerations.
- Experience rationalizing Marketplace apps and customizations during cloud migrations.
- Background working with regulated or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., public sector, healthcare, life sciences, aerospace and defense).
- Experience supporting hybrid or phased cloud migration strategies.
