Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced (Senior) Manager Usability & Design to lead and inspire a cross-functional team of UX Designers, Usability Engineers and Frontend Developers for our Brainlab products. This is a pivotal leadership role at the interface between Brand, Design & Usability and R&D, ensuring that our software products not only look exceptional but deliver best-in-class product usability and performance across all platforms β€” web, mobile and beyond.

You will play a key role in driving the user experience vision, steering future relaunches of our responsive software and aligning design efforts with technical and brand strategies.

Your key responsibilities include:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of UX Designers, Usability Engineers and Frontend Developers
  • Act as the functional bridge between brand design, user experience design and R&D, ensuring cohesive product development aligned with corporate goals.
  • Define and execute the global usability and design strategy across all touchpoints our emerging product platforms in alignment with regulatory frameworks
  • Drive the user experience vision and design excellence, ensuring consistency, innovation and accessibility

Operational & Functional Excellence

  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define and deliver compelling user-centric solutions
  • Oversee and guide future relaunches of our software platforms, including UX/UI modernization and platform unification
  • Establish and evolve design systems, usability best practices and cross-team processes

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our product experiences
  • Ensure the team delivers against key KPIs such as user satisfaction, brand quality standards, task success, time to market and product adoption

Qualifications

  • University degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in leading UX/design and frontend teams in agile environments; ideally within the MedTech industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex software relaunches, including responsive and cross-platform applications
  • Strong background in user-centered design, usability engineering and modern frontend development frameworks
  • Experience working at the intersection of brand strategy and technical implementation
  • Expertise in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Jira, Confluence, HTML/CSS/JS, and component-based frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for building progressive and functional user experiences that translate business strategy and shape brand identity
