At CD PROJEKT RED, we’ve built our legacy on rich worlds and storytelling from the epic tales of _The Witcher_ to the dystopian future of Cyberpunk 2077. Now, we’re setting out on the next journey: to create a completely new IP which is Project Hadar. It is shaped by the same passion, quality, and vision that define everything we do.

As a Senior Engineer, Gameplay in CD PROJEKT RED you will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization and maintenance of our gameplay technology used in our games. In this position you will cooperate with designers, programmers and other specialists to build the tech that will drive our project and you’ll have the chance to try out your skills in various areas of game programming.
- Designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining core gameplay systems.
- Taking ownership of key gameplay features, ensuring scalability, performance, and quality.
- Developing tools and debug utilities to streamline gameplay development.
- Collaborating with designers and other specialists to create engaging gameplay mechanics.
- Partnering with design, QA, production, and other teams to define technical scope, timelines, and priorities.
- Debugging, profiling, and resolving technical challenges across large-scale systems.
- Conducting code reviews and maintaining clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Defining and documenting technical standards.
- Mentoring junior and mid-level team members, sharing knowledge, and fostering team growth.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional programming experience in the games industry.
- Experience in successfully shipping at least one game.
- Expertise in C++ coding principles and practices, with experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
- Strong understanding of game engine architecture, algorithms, and multi-threaded systems.
- Advanced experience with designing and implementing gameplay systems (e.g., AI, physics, combat).
- Solid debugging skills and experience resolving complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio and tools pipelines to enhance developer workflows.
- Openness to receiving and giving feedback about your work.
- Mentoring experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to taking ownership, setting goals, exchanging knowledge and driving initiatives independently.
- Passion for professional growth and staying updated on industry trends.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Openness for changes & experimentation, high-quality passion and a good sense of humor are appreciated!
