We’re seeking seasoned Senior Medical Writers to act as content leads on clinician education programs. You’ll pair deep therapeutic expertise with instructional design instincts to shape agendas, develop slide decks, craft clear narratives from complex data, and guide creative teams,delivering high-quality, on-time education in a fast, “startup-within-the-enterprise” environment.
Profile Overview
We’re looking for senior medical writing content leads. You’ll pair deep therapeutic expertise with instructional design instincts, guiding structure, slides, and narrative flow while collaborating with internal Creative, Editorial, and PM teams. You’re comfortable negotiating scope (e.g., condensing 90+ input slides into -10 for a 15-minute highlight) and operating in a fast, deadline-driven environment.
Scope
Timeline: Immediate start (expedited congress/symposia work in the near term) 6 months
Commitment: 65-100+ hours/month (weekly cadence varies with project stage)
Work Format: Remote; collaborate reliably in US Eastern and/or UK/Central Europe business hours
Responsibilities
- Lead content creation for webinars, symposium highlights, podcasts, and clinician-facing alerts.
- Define agendas & objectives; translate client and faculty inputs into structured outlines with clear learning goals.
- Develop slides & narratives that clarify complex oncology/hematology data for HCP audiences.
- Advise on visualization choices (e.g., table → bar/forest plot) to improve comprehension and reduce permissions costs.
- Engage faculty/SMEs: facilitate conversations, ask the right questions, and ensure scientific depth with instructional clarity.
- Negotiate scope & structure with clients to balance rigor and engagement under tight timelines.
- Cross-functional collaboration with creative teams, editors, and PMs to deliver on brief and on time.
- Operate at a high level in a fast-pace environment: juggle multiple projects, execute quick turns, and maintain high standards.
- Maintain clean documentation with references, citations, and compliance-ready files.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of medical writing for HCP audiences (agency, publisher, pharma/biotech, or med-ed).
- Proven track record as a content lead on clinician education programs with faculty interaction.
- Deep therapeutic knowledge in oncology (NSCLC, gastric, pancreas) and/or malignant hematology (CLL, leukemia, lymphocytic lymphoma).
- Ability to condense data-heavy decks into concise, visually clear slides with speaker notes.
- Skilled in literature review, referencing, and compliance considerations.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills; proactive in asking questions and flagging gaps.
- Demonstrated comfort working in extremely fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Bonus
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MS) in a relevant field.
- Prior congress/symposium highlights experience.
- Familiarity with Workfront or similar PM platforms (training available).
- Exposure to rare disease writing.
