Job description

Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlymยฎ (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushingโ€™s syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

The Key Accounts Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an ethical strategy to drive disease awareness, enhance institutional partnerships, and establish system-wide hypercortisolism screening protocols in targeted healthcare systems. This role focuses on pre-specified target healthcare systems specializing in the management of refractory cardio-metabolic diseases and/or hypercortisolism/Cushing syndrome (CS). Target physicians within these accounts include, but are not limited to, endocrinologists, diabetologists, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, endocrine surgeons, and interventional radiologists, as well as other staff supporting the care of patients with CS. Other targets include Informatics, Quality, Health Economics, and other roles within strategic operation leadership.

  • Identify key stakeholders to create and champion system change (protocols, electronic medical record (EMR) flags, decision support tools)
  • Align departments involved in multidisciplinary patient identification and care
  • Drive post-protocol adoption with continued system-wide education to foster long-term behavior change

Establish Korlym Positioning ( Non-promotional role)

  • Develop and refine Korlym positioning within target healthcare systems to highlight its role in hypercortisolism management
  • Support system access through approved educational initiatives
  • Leverage team collaboration to maximize reach and impact of Korlym-related education
  • Transfer HCPs interested in prescribing Korlym to CS (via compliant channels)

Optimize Corcept Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Clinical Specialists (CSs), Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs), and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) during KOL engagement and system educational projects
  • Triage identified research interests and advanced clinical inquiries to the Medical Affairs team
  • Regularly communicate system strategy, insights, and updates to all relevant Corcept partners

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience working in target healthcare systems with a specialty in endocrinology, cardiology, diabetology, orphan disease, or other specialized markets
  • Proven success engaging with regional- and national-level KOLs to influence institutional practices
  • Demonstrated ability to establish or influence protocol adoption (e.g., care pathways, EMR flags, screening protocols)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation), with the ability to engage multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Strong clinical acumen and patient-focused mindset
  • Required to travel by car and plane at least 80% of the time
  • Must maintain a driving record in accordance with Corcept vehicle policy
