Job Description

You will be joining a small group of lawyers and risk & compliance professionals as part of Docplanner’s Global Legal Team, supporting them in improving the way in which the Legal & Risk & Compliance function operates across the group. This role uniquely combines traditional legal operations with technical coordination responsibilities, also requiring close collaboration with our Legal Tech Team - a specialised group of engineers and product professionals delivering legal and privacy improvements directly within our product.

You may be exposed to a wide array of different topics, including the handling and management of data protection workflows, risk and governance projects, contracts, litigation proceedings, intellectual property protection strategies, labour processes, and regulatory requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between legal expertise and technical implementation, making a direct impact on how privacy and compliance are embedded within our product development lifecycle.

Reporting to the group’s Chief Legal and Risk Officer and working closely with our Global Legal Operations Manager, your main tasks may include:

  • work on the improvement of internal processes and procedures, to help the Global Legal, Risk & Compliance Team meet the needs of the Docplanner business functions in the most cost-effective and time-efficient way possible;
  • take the lead on the adoption and/or maintenance of Docplanner’s legal tech stack (including GenAI-powered tools) to boost the Global Legal, Risk & Compliance Team’s efficiency, by scoping the relevant needs, identifying the best solutions or products, and designing and managing the implementation and roll-out process;
  • project-manage cross-functional projects involving Legal, Risk & Compliance, Tech & Product, and Finance teams, managing technical timelines, coordinating stakeholder requirements, and ensuring legal compliance throughout development cycles;
  • help the Global Legal, Risk & Compliance Team find efficient ways to identify risks and opportunities by horizon scanning, mapping, and researching upcoming changes in the regulatory/legal environment in which Docplanner operates;
  • coordinate and manage complex data protection initiatives, such as: automating data deletion workflows, implementing automated anonymisation processes; supporting data encryption efforts; managing cookie consent management systems, including quarterly scanning processes, and banner configuration updates; and automating the processing of data subject access requests and the maintenance of our register of processing activities (among others);
  • design, implement, and maintain legal- and privacy-focused KPIs and metrics dashboards, including for example: tracking contract requests; tracking anonymisation success rates, GDPR compliance metrics, and data retention analytics;
  • support the implementation of regulatory compliance APIs, such as DSA (Digital Services Act) transparency reporting mechanisms, by coordinating technical requirements with tech teams and mapping legal obligations to technical specifications;
  • execute and review SQL queries for data extraction, anonymisation verification, and compliance reporting, working across multiple database environments; and
  • create and maintain technical documentation for legal processes, including data flow diagrams, privacy impact assessments, and technical specifications for legal compliance tools;

Qualifications

  • full professional proficiency and ability to work in English, written and spoken (additional European languages a strong plus);
  • experience in project management, product development, operations management or administration (experience in contract management or similar, legal & compliance-related operations a plus);
  • technical background with coding / vibe-coding experience or strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with software development concepts, database management, and API integrations; software development background or formal training in computer science, information systems, or related technical fields a plus;
  • proficiency in (or willingness to learn) SQL and usage of data analysis tools, with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights for legal and compliance purposes;
  • experience with project management tools such as Jira, and/or familiarity with data analytics platforms such as Superset, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools, as well as with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team coordination;
  • enthusiastic about making legal and compliance teams (or similar corporate functions) efficient operational machines;
  • not afraid of “getting your hands dirty” in understanding the intricacies of tech solutions and tools in order to maximise their usefulness and the team’s productivity. Ability to be proactive without constant supervision, coming up with ideas and ways to improve the status quo, and leading projects autonomously;
  • quick decision making with good business judgement, detail-oriented and well-organised, and not afraid to hold others accountable (regardless of role and seniority) when the required processes and procedures are not followed;
  • strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
