You will play a crucial role in solution delivery and the ongoing quality assurance of the Global Automation Operations Centre (AOC) program. Reporting to the QA & Test Automation Manager and supporting Automation product, platform, and delivery teams worldwide, you will ensure our automation projects are rigorously tested and maintained to deliver quantifiable returns.
The AOC is chartered to develop and delivery automation products, support global automation products or projects delivered by Automation delivery teams from around WPP. Our support apparatus gives those teams confidence and freedom to hand over their existing successes and continue innovating.
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality and technical excellence? We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to join our dedicated QA and test team within the AOC. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing automated regression and functional testing suites using UiPath Test Cloud. You will work closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure the stability of our Power Platform solutions (specifically Model-driven Apps) and custom web applications, playing a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our global automation ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing:
- Test Development & Execution: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using UiPath Test Cloud to support regression, functional, and integration testing for Model-driven Apps and web applications.
- Framework Management: Contribute to the evolution of the test automation framework, ensuring scripts are scalable, reusable, and aligned with AOC standards.
- Incident Logging & Documentation: Accurately log all defects identified during automated runs, including detailed steps to reproduce, logs, and screenshots into our incident management system.
- First-Line Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostics on failed test cases to determine if issues stem from environment instability, script errors, or genuine application bugs.
- Escalation Management: Effectively communicate critical bugs and blockers to the QA & Test Automation Manager and development teams, providing comprehensive handovers of gathering evidence.
- Collaboration & User Communication: Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding test coverage, execution status, and release readiness.
- Basic Data Querying: Execute SQL or reporting system queries to perform backend data validation and verify that automation outputs match expected results.
- Documentation Contribution: Maintain and update test plans, test cases, and technical runbooks to ensure the QA knowledge base remains current.
- Support for Deployments: Support the CI/CD pipeline by executing automated “smoke tests” and regression suites during updates, patches, and version upgrades for Power Platform components.
- Performance Tracking: Gather and report on quality metrics, such as pass/fail rates and defect density, to contribute to the continuous improvement of our automation solutions.
What you’ll need:
- Overall experience: 3-4 years in a software testing, QA, or test automation role.
- Core Technical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with UiPath (Studio and Test Manager) and the UiPath Test Suite.
- Platform Expertise: Proven experience developing and executing automated tests for Microsoft Power Platform, with a specific focus on Model-driven Apps.
- Web Testing: Solid understanding of web technologies and experience automating testing for web-based applications.
- SQL Knowledge: Basic knowledge of SQL, including the ability to run queries for data validation and understand database structures.
- Incident Management: Proficiency in using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Azure DevOps for defect tracking and task management.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret test results, identify patterns in failures, and troubleshoot technical blockers.
- Communication: Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical defects to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation and a “test-to-fail” mindset to ensure software quality.
- Proactive Attitude: Strong desire to keep pace with the evolving AI and Automation landscape.
- Mandatory Certifications
