The Sr. Director, Demand Planning and Data Analytics is a critical role that oversees demand forecasting and business analysis activities. This person oversees a team that serves as a link between the sales, finance, and supply chain functions to ensure alignment between plans and will work to create and achieve consensus for forecasts through collaborative cross-functional planning processes.
WHAT YOU DO:
- Own and oversee the global demand planning function, driving top-down and bottom-up forecasting processes across all markets, channels, and categories.
- Set the long-term forecasting roadmap, aligning demand planning with overall business objectives and product innovation strategies.
- Present forecast insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive teams on a regular cadence. Able to translate data into clear narratives for leadership.
- Lead a team that manages Hourglass’ retail sales data globally
- Lead development of global SKU-level demand forecasts using retail/wholesale data, historical performance, market trends, and promotional calendars.
- Identify risks and opportunities through data analysis; provide recommendations to Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to influence planning decisions. Ability to manage cross-functional influence and push back diplomatically on overly optimistic assumptions.
- Oversee planning of new product launches and promotional events, ensuring accurate, timely forecasts and post-launch performance analysis. Experience forecasting zero-history SKUs and ability to manage social buzz vs sustainable demand. Provide structure post-launch reviews.
- Partner with global and regional commercial teams to improve forecast accuracy, enhance responsiveness, and mitigate supply risk.
- Define and implement forecasting tools, KPIs, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure to continuously improve demand planning accuracy and efficiency. Continue to develop dashboards and analytical capability to answer key questions in the business and provide stakeholders with clear performance views
- Lead or support system enhancements and planning tool upgrades (e.g., Oracle Planning Cloud, Oracle).
- Manage, track, and approve gratis/stock impact requests to support inventory merchandise strategy for newness, events, and promotions.
- Produce and analyze ad-hoc and/or ongoing reporting as needed.
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of demand planners. Ensure team capabilities keep pace with business complexity and growth through training, talent development, and process optimization. Provide calm leadership in ambiguous times.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 years of experience within demand planning, data science, business intelligence, or related field; beauty industry experience preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role with direct report
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, economics, finance, or related field preferred
- Very strong Excel and analytical skills required; PowerBI and/or Oracle SCP experience strongly preferred
- Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail
- Passion for product, specifically cosmetics and skincare
- Proven success creating and leading processes
- Analytical, with experience tracking and reporting
- Adaptable, resourceful and forward thinking
- Experience working at innovative, fast-paced startups or indie brands is a plus
- Thrive on solving problems and looking at implementing creative solutions
- Proven ability to execute
- Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time
The expected base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $170,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
