Job Description

  • Working collaboratively with the Administration functions.
  • Providing a wide variety of accounting tasks supporting the Company’s ever growing and diversified client base.
  • Producing a high level of quality internal and external client service, including the accurate and timely provision of financial accounting services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Fund Accountants and Management Team on day-to-day accounting tasks and matters in respect of their client portfolios
  • Complete client accounting matters accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper and orderly records of client accounting matters are maintained
  • Ensure client accounting procedures are followed at all times
  • Assist with project work as the business requires
  • Support an on-going programme of continuous improvement to client service, identifying and escalating opportunities as appropriate
  • Grow commercial awareness and develop a good level of competitor and industry awareness
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements and investor reports for review by management and thereafter clients and auditors
  • Prepare and review Net Asset Value Reports
  • Prepare and review Guernsey tax returns and review UK tax returns
  • Ensure accounting and bookkeeping deadlines are being met in a timely manner
  • Present accounting information accurately to internal and external Directors at board meetings
  • Develop a good technical understanding of legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practice, that are relevant to the Company and its clients
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies and procedures are being followed and complied with and, in case of non-compliance, inform the Senior Manager, Fund Accounting and Compliance Team in a timely manner
  • Escalate issues and concerns as they arise to the relevant person in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Fund Accounting experience
  • Qualified accountant
  • Evidence of commitment to a high standard of client service
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Membership of relevant Professional Institute
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Knowledge of the Finance Industry in Guernsey
