Job description

The Web Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly websites and digital assets. This role requires strong design skills, a deep understanding of UX/UI principles applied to websites, and the ability to stay updated with what converts from a user behaviour stand point on multiple devices. They should also stay ahead on design trends and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate combines creativity, technical knowledge, and attention to detail to deliver professional and impactful digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop responsive website layouts, graphics, templates, and digital assets.
  • Create original icons, images, and visual elements that enhance web content.
  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, site maps, and mockups to guide design concepts.
  • Apply design principles, typography, color theory, and user-centered design practices to create intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Optimize designs for usability, responsiveness, and compatibility across devices and browsers.
  • Incorporate an understanding of buyer journeys and user personas throughout the design process.
  • Maintain visual consistency and brand identity by adhering to style standards (fonts, colors, images, etc).
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and developers to define project goals, present concepts, and incorporate feedback.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX/UI issues, making improvements based on testing and user feedback.
  • Stay updated on the latest design tools, web trends, technologies, and best practices (AI tools knowledge is a plus).
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on new and existing websites to ensure accuracy, usability, and functionality. Address and resolve design-related issues in collaboration with developers.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate project progress and potential challenges to project managers or team leads.
  • Collaborate with developers to address design-related issues and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Continuously improve design skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in web and graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse web design projects.
  • Proficiency in Figma (must-have) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with other design or wireframing tools will be considered a plus.
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI best practices, typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for prototyping and effective collaboration with developers.
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility testing and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to collaborate with an international team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (ClickUp, Monday, Asana, or Trello) is a plus.
  • Awareness of emerging design technologies and trends.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
