About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist with strong Python expertise and hands-on experience in machine learning and data analysis. This role focuses on working with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) datasets, including semi-structured and unstructured data, to drive meaningful insights and build scalable data solutions.
You will play a key role in enhancing an existing internal Python codebase while developing new data-driven capabilities, integrating external data sources, and contributing to advanced analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance, maintain, and extend an existing Python-based internal codebase
- Develop new data processing pipelines and analytical functionalities
- Retrieve, process, and integrate data from external APIs
- Work extensively with semi-structured and unstructured ESG datasets (JSON, XML, text data)
- Perform data wrangling, cleaning, transformation, and validation
- Conduct feature engineering and build machine learning models
- Evaluate and optimize models for performance and scalability
- Translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python for data science (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Feature engineering
- Model development and evaluation
- Data preprocessing and transformation
- Experience working with APIs for data retrieval and integration
- Strong experience handling semi-structured/unstructured data
- Ability to work with and improve an existing production-level codebase
- Solid understanding of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning concepts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
