THE JOB / Account Executive (Golf Sponsorship) (Technology Client)
CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.
***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT or New York, NY. ***
We are looking for an Account Executive to execute the golf sponsorship platform of a fortune 500 company. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with a passion for golf and working alongside talent to support all facets of the client’s golf platform, including talent relationship management, as well as event logistics coordination of a nationwide golf outing program.
The AE will work closely with Account Manager, Group Director, along with key players on the client team and their agency and property partners.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
- Support execution of client’s sponsorship portfolio, including content coordination, brand ambassador contractual tracking and fulfillment, as well as continuous planning support for client golf outings
- Assist with event planning, on-site activation, and post-event wrap-up for various golf outing programs
- Manage talent appearance logistics including booking lodging, transportation, food and beverage, production services, etc.
- Handle all components of event logistics, including registration platform, consumer relationship management, golf competition logistics, gifting, golf course coordination, food and beverage management, etc.
- Lead all partnership hospitality assets including but not limited to hotel blocks, merchandise, tournament branding, media exposure and brand ambassador activation
- Support all weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents, including agendas and call notes
- Ensure various agency partners are aligned and advised on timelines, as well as keep projects moving alongside target deadlines and budgets
- Track fulfillment of sponsorship assets, and handle the day-to-day logistics of executing various property elements
- Lead event reports and recap documents

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 1-2 years of sponsorship marketing and/or experience in event logistics and/or coordinating marketing platforms
- A standout colleague who is curious not only to grow in your job but also wants to help others and learn the different parts of the business
- The ability to problem solve – you recognize problems before they happen and have solutions ready to go
- A self-starter with the ability to get going quickly and juggle multiple projects on tight timelines
- Proven experience shows an ability to make connections with clients and be flexible and adaptable in working with various personalities
- Sufficient understanding and interest in the golf industry
- Experience in managing, and forecasting against, a budget
- Experience managing and growing junior staff
- Passionate to make an overall account contribution with new projects and ideas
- Strong communication, writing and client service skills
- Superb organizational skills and acute attention to detail
- Experience in professional/amateur golf a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel: Low (0-15%)
This position pays $40,000, is overtime-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
