Manager Salesforce Platform Engineer

Job description

Restaurant365 is a SaaS company disrupting the restaurant industry! Our cloud-based platform provides a unique, centralized solution for accounting and back-office operations for restaurants. Restaurant365’s culture is focused on empowering team members to produce top-notch results while elevating their skills. We’re constantly evolving and improving to make sure we are and always will be “Best in Class” … and we want that for you too!

The Manager, Salesforce Platform Engineering will lead a team of Salesforce engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and resilient Salesforce solutions that power our Go-To-Market and Customer 360 strategy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the technical roadmap for the Salesforce platform, upholding modern engineering and DevOps practices, and partner closely with Enterprise Cloud Technology (ECT) and GTM leadership to translate business objectives into high-quality technical solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide architecture and design decisions, review code and solutions, and mentor team members while ensuring the platform is reliable, performant, and ready to scale.

How you’ll add value:

  • Cultivate a high-performing team by leading, mentoring, and developing Salesforce engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Align admins, engineers, and analysts around a cohesive Salesforce roadmap and delivery model.
  • Own the technical vision for the Salesforce platform in support of GTM and Customer 360 priorities.
  • Balance new feature delivery with platform optimization, technical debt reduction, and scalability/reliability improvements.
  • Drive solution architecture and engineering standards by guiding solution design for complex Salesforce initiatives, ensuring architectures are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with platform and security best practices.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards and patterns for Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and declarative automation (Flows, configuration, etc.).
  • Own DevOps, CI/CD, and release management and mature the Salesforce DevOps strategy, including source control, branching, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Define and maintain an environment strategy (sandboxes, scratch orgs) that supports safe experimentation and predictable promotion from development through UAT to production. Shape integration and data architecture by partnering with the data team to design and operate robust, secure integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, product, customer success, support).
  • Collaborate with Security and IT to ensure appropriate access controls, data protection, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Ensure documentation (technical & solution designs) is created and kept current.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience on the Salesforce platform across engineering, development, or architecture roles in a complex environment (preferably SaaS or high-growth B2B).
  • 2–4+ years of experience directly managing or leading Salesforce engineers or technical teams.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud and at least one of: Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, or custom apps.
  • Deep expertise with Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs, integration patterns) and strong understanding of declarative capabilities (Flows, configuration, security model).
  • · Demonstrated experience with Salesforce integration patterns using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and/or event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and operating DevOps/CI/CD for Salesforce, including version control, automated testing, and environment management. Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, object design, and performance considerations at scale.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban), including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Strong decision-making, prioritization, and tradeoff skills across competing demands and limited capacity. Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels (ICs through executives), translating business needs into actionable technical plans.
  • Salesforce certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I/II, Platform App Builder, Application Architect, System Architect). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward action, ownership, and continuous improvement.
