Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for precision and compliance? We are looking for a Middle Accountant to join our team and support two UK entities. This is a Middle-level role with a hybrid working model, offering flexibility and collaboration.

You will work closely with local advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial reporting that meets both statutory and internal requirements.

Job Description

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for two UK entities
  • Ensure proper recognition of revenue and expenses in accordance with accounting principles
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and internal financial reports
  • Coordinate with local UK accounting and tax advisors regarding VAT returns and statutory filings
  • Review and validate VAT calculations and draft returns prepared by external consultants
  • Provide timely and complete documentation to local advisors for reporting purposes
  • Monitor VAT control accounts and perform reconciliations
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support year-end closing process and liaise with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
  • Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting logic, and supporting documentation requirements
  • Practical experience in a UK accounting environment (strongly preferred)
  • Clear understanding of VAT mechanics and expense recognition
  • Proficient in 1C and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Xero or QuickBooks is an advantage
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage document flow efficiently
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate English proficiency
  • Responsible and capable of managing multiple accounting processes independently
  • Ability to coordinate external advisors and critically review their work

WILL BE A PLUS

  • Previous experience working with UK-based entities
  • Experience reviewing VAT returns prepared by external accountants
  • Experience in multi-entity or international environments
