Headquartered in Ghent, with offices in London, Luxembourg, Gouda (NL), and Mont-Saint-Guibert, we’re a team of over 180 people - including a diverse remote engineering team working across multiple time zones - all working together to drive innovation in accounting.

What would you do to drive our success?

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR professional for a temporary maternity cover role, initially foreseen as three days per week, from March to September 2026. You will be a vital member of our People team, ensuring the stability of our day-to-day HR operations while also collaborating on key Compensation & Benefits projects across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the UK.

This is a dynamic and comprehensive role. You will collaborate closely with our People & Fleet Coordinator, Office & Culture Coordinator, and People Business Partners. You will act as a central expert for operational matters and drive specific projects related to rewards, compliance, and strategic HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Please note: This is a very comprehensive role with a wide variety of ad-hoc tasks. The list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and will evolve based on the changing needs of the business.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Operational Excellence: You will support the team in maintaining operational excellence, ensuring all HR processes are efficient, compliant, and well-documented.
  • Compliance & Audits: You will support the team in periodic audits of our HR systems, benefits, contracts, and policies to ensure they are fully up-to-date. You will take corrective action or flag issues as needed.
  • Legal Expertise: Stay current on all local legislation and sectoral agreements (BE, NL, LUX, UK). You will be responsible for interpreting possible changes and implementing them accordingly.
  • Payroll Support: Serve as the subject matter expert to support payroll operations across all four countries. While the People & Fleet Coordinator takes the lead on execution, you will provide essential advice and guidance on complex cases.
  • Employee Relations: Provide support in managing sensitive employee cases, such as terminations, ensuring legal compliance and a professional approach.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Review: Support and help coordinate the annual Salary Review Cycles, ensuring adherence to the company’s compensation framework.
  • Benefits Management: Manage the renewal process for employee benefits contracts, keeping a sharp eye on budget and market competitiveness.
  • Variable Compensation: Work in close partnership with the Finance team on all processes and queries related to variable compensation (bonuses, commissions, etc.).
  • Market Analysis: Keep an eye on emerging C&B trends, market data, and best practices.

People Projects & Stakeholder Management

  • Strategic Support and Project Management: Lend your experience and insights to larger business projects (if any), possibly including potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or the opening of new entities.
  • Collaboration: Foster strong cross-functional relationships with the Talent Team, People Business Partners, Finance, IT, Legal, and other stakeholders to drive efficiencies and simplify workflows.

  • Proven Experience: You have solid experience in a similar HR role, with a strong focus on both operational HR and Compensation & Benefits.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: You are comfortable with ambiguity and take ownership to find answers. You proactively research solutions and leverage your network to navigate complex or unfamiliar situations.
  • International Scope: You are comfortable working in an international environment.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: You possess strong analytical skills
  • Hands-on Mentality: You are an entrepreneurial and proactive “do-er.” You have a broad generalist HR knowledge and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into operational tasks.
  • Project Management: You have demonstrable project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong Communicator: You are an excellent communicator and stakeholder manager, able to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Market Insight: You have good insights into general market salary data and trends.
  • Team Player: You work collaboratively and can seamlessly support and cover for colleagues.
