About Sorting Robotics
Founded in 2018, we develop robotics, computer vision, and AI systems for industrial automation, primarily for the cannabis industry. Our solutions help cannabis brands, processors, growers, and co-packers automate production to cut costs and increase efficiency. We automate cannabis production processes, such as pre-roll infusion and vape filling.
Our products include:
- Stardust automatically coats pre-rolls with kief, infusing up to 1,500 joints per hour. It works with cones, straight tubes, and blunts, and handles concentrates like distillate, arabic-gum, cigar glue, kief, bubble hash, and THCa diamonds. Stardust offers customizable coating recipes and real-time production tracking.
- Launched in 2020, Jiko Standard is an automated pre-roll infusion system that infuses up to 1,000 joints per hour. It is compatible with distillate, rosin, and other concentrates, and works with cones, straight tubes, and blunts. Jiko Standard provides precision dosing control (down to 0.05 grams) and tracks real-time throughput and production data.
- Released in 2023, Jiko+ is designed for high-viscosity concentrates, specifically for hash holes and core-infused pre-rolls. It handles thick concentrates like rosin and infuses up to 1,200 joints per hour. Jiko+ has advanced heat control for accurate dosing and maintains the infusion’s shape, depth, and placement. This system also handles concentrates such as fresh press live rosin, live resin, sauce, distillate, badder, shatter, liquid diamonds, and non-decarbed materials. It includes a “Donut Maker Poker,” a specialized needle for creating space for thicker concentrates.
Our automation systems boost throughput, expand production, and track performance for cannabis manufacturing. We focus on maximizing efficiency, profitability, consistency, and craftsmanship, reducing labor costs and minimizing waste. We custom-build components to match various cone, tube, blunt, or SKU formats.
Team & Culture
Our team has 11 to 50 employees, including engineers and scientists from NASA and other robotics corporations. Our co-founders are Nohtal Partansky, an entrepreneur and former NASA engineer (cognizant engineer in the MOXIE project), and Cassio Santos. Our team includes roles such as Director of Production, Controller, Operations Coordinator, Software Support Technician, Sr. Software Developer, and Installation Technician. We use our extensive experience and professionalism to solve production bottlenecks and customize support for our clients. Our technology, designed by ex-NASA engineers and refined by our operators and engineers, focuses on practical application and engineering precision.
