About VentureWell

VentureWell is a non-profit organization founded in 1995. We help inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs bring their ideas to market and tackle global challenges through workshops, training, coaching, mentoring, funding, and awards.\n\nWe encourage collaboration among researchers and students to advance innovation and entrepreneurship education for STEM students and researchers. We also support faculty in developing programs that help student innovators and drive institutional change through grants, workshops, training, and conferences. We build networks to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem across the country and within organizations and schools. Our programs include Aspire Climatetech, a hybrid program to prepare startups for investor engagement; the DEBUT Challenge, which offers prizes for student teams working on health and clinical problems; Medtech to Market: Maternal Health, which brings health technology to maternity care deserts; and the Ocean Enterprise Accelerator, to support blue innovators.\n\nSince 1995, we have awarded over $30.9 million in grants, trained more than 20,200 early-stage innovators, and supported over 1,300 institutions. Ventures we have supported have raised over $7.9 billion in follow-on funding. Over nearly 30 years, we have trained more than 7,700 innovation teams and helped launch over 6,300 ventures, reaching millions of people in 54 countries with technology in biotechnology, healthcare, sustainable energy, and solutions for low-resource settings. Our funding comes from The Lemelson Foundation, National Science Foundation, United States Department of State, National Institutes of Health, Qualcomm, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, and Microsoft, among others.
