Job Description
Veolia Water Tech has an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated EHS professional to join our team as the CSM (Chemical Solutions and Monitoring) Fixed Facility EHS Leader. This position is a vital member of an interactive and supportive team responsible for providing comprehensive EHS leadership, guidance, support, and execution specifically for our fixed facility operations.
The role requires a seasoned EHS professional with the expertise to identify and implement compliant, practical, cost-effective, and safe solutions that protect our employees, operations, and the environment. As the EHS leader for our fixed facilities, you will oversee critical safety aspects of chemical production, chemical blending, chemical storage, laboratory processes, manage EHS compliance for wastewater treatment and neutralization systems, and develop essential protocols such as traffic management for facility operations.
This position demands both technical proficiency and influential leadership capabilities. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and facility leadership teams to build and sustain a robust EHS culture throughout our fixed facility operations. Your responsibilities encompass conducting facility inspections, assisting in hazardous operations reviews, driving continuous process improvement initiatives and PSM (Process Safety Management) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
EHS Leadership & Culture
- Drive EHS culture across chemical production, blending, and lab operations
- Coach teams on EHS, inclusion, diversity, and sustainability Chemical Operations Safety
- Oversee safe operations and compliance for chemical handling, storage, waste, and hazmat (DOT/GHS)
- Conduct inspections, hazardous operation reviews, and implement High Risk Management standards
- Maintain EHS framework and Gensuite requirements
- Develop traffic management protocols
Program Management
- Drive process improvements and implement EHS programs
- Ensure EPA/OSHA compliance while managing competing priorities
Communication & Engagement
- Β Coach teams and interface with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain records, monitor metrics, and manage environmental permits
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, Science, or Technical field
- 10+ years EHS leadership experience with health and safety focus in manufacturing/production
- Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local EHS regulations
Proven ability to design, implement, and lead comprehensive EHS programs including:
- Process Safety Management (PSM) - all 14 OSHA elements
- HAZOP facilitation and process hazard analysis
- GHS compliance (classification, labeling, SDS management)
- Environmental permitting (air quality, NPDES, stormwater)
- Secondary containment systems and spill prevention
- Wastewater treatment and neutralization compliance
- Experience leading facility safety management, inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action leadership.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene, emergency response planning, and crisis management

- 30% travel
Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidateβs knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $115,000-$135,000 (USD); 110,000-135,000 (CAD) annually.
