The Team:
The NBA Tech Art team is a diverse group of dedicated Technical Artists that perform a wide variety of tasks. We write and maintain tools for the art department, rig the characters, props, and clothing, and do a lot of problem solving.
What We Need:
The Novato team is looking for an expert pipeline oriented technical developer (temporary) to write tools to support all portions or our art team. This role reports in to the Lead Technical Artist.
What You Will Do:
- Hands-on scripting and technical tools pipeline development to refine and improve our workflow
- Optimize pipelines between our artist publishing tools, asset databases, and our version control backend. Continually build and troubleshoot the artist data (e.g. assets, props, textures, materials, characters, etc.) and the pipeline that produces it
- Collaborate with a team of other technical artists, support art teams directly, and work closely with engineers
Who Will Be A Great Fit:
- Experience in writing tools, scripts, and pipeline development, ideally for games or visual effects
- You exhibit a mastery with Python and have a working knowledge of Maya or other 3d content creation application
- Love for video games (not just ours!)
Nice To Have:
- Writing tools that work with Perforce or other version control software
- Supervising a render farm job queue and troubleshooting failed jobs
- Character Rigging Experience
- Experience with Qt and PySide
- Experience working with Shader for USD
- Setting up or maintaining ShotGrid Desktop and the ShotGrid Tank API
- Querying and populating a database with its Python API
- Machine Learning Experience
- Experience with C#
This is a role that can be remote and may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect: California: $41- $57 per hour. New York State (inclusive of New York City): $37 - $51 per hour. Washington: $41 - $57 per hour. New Jersey: $37 - $51 per hour. British Columbia: $34 - $48 (CAD) per hour. Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
