šÆ Your Mission
As a Reinsurance Accountant (or Reinsurance Accounting Specialist), your mission is to support the production, control, and accounting integration of reinsurance statements, while contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and tools.
You will be involved in both day-to-day operations (production and booking of statements, follow-up with reinsurers) and closing / optimisation activities (inventory entries, reporting, process improvement).
āļø Your Responsibilities
1. Production and Control of Reinsurance Statements
- Contribute to maintaining theĀ reference database of reinsurance treaties, ensuring that treaty clauses/wordings are correctly reflected in the administration tools.
- Control and validate calculationsĀ in reinsurance statements, ensuringĀ correct application of treaty conditions.
- Ensure properĀ posting of statements into the accounting system (Sage), including data entry, clearings, and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts.
- Participate inĀ financial follow-up with reinsurers, working closely with theĀ Cash ManagerĀ to guarantee timely settlements and accurate cash flows.
- Contribute toĀ quarterly closing activities: production and justification of inventory entries related to reinsurance.
2. Process Optimisation & Projects
- Help updateĀ reinsurer and cash flow mapping, ensuring a clear view of flows and counterparties.
- Contribute to theĀ improvement of reportingĀ and justification of reinsurance-related accounts.
- Participate inĀ projects related to the reinsurance accounting perimeterĀ (tool enhancements, process redesign, data quality initiatives).
In your role, you will interact directly with the Reinsurance Squad, Cash Manager, and the back offices of reinsurance brokers and reinsurers, as well as internal Finance stakeholders.
š§ What You Bring
AĀ Masterās degree (Bac+5)Ā with a specialisation inĀ Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At leastĀ 5 years of experienceĀ either:
- in anĀ audit / advisory / accounting firmĀ (ideally in an Insurance practice), or
- within anĀ insurance or reinsurance company, in accounting or reinsurance-related roles.
Experience inĀ producing and controlling reinsurance statements, ensuring compliance with treaty clauses.
Ability toĀ maintain and update reinsurance treaty referencesĀ in management tools.
Solid skills inĀ accounting integrationĀ of reinsurance flows: posting, clearings, and reconciliation of accounts.
Experience contributing toĀ quarterly closings: production and justification of inventory entries.
Demonstrated ability toĀ optimise accounting processes, improve reporting, and support reconciliation and justification work.
Experience participating inĀ projects related to reinsurance accountingĀ and working with multiple stakeholders.
Strong command ofĀ accounting IT toolsĀ (general ledger, sub-ledgers, Excel, reporting tools).
Good understanding ofĀ reinsurance mechanismsĀ (proportional / non-proportional, treaties, statements, settlements).
Full professional proficiency inĀ English; French is a strong asset if not already your native language.

- Proactive and comfortable in aĀ transforming environmentĀ where tools and processes evolve (new systems, new treaties, growing perimeter).
- Clear and concise in yourĀ written and verbal communication, able to explain technical topics to non-experts.
