This is a remote position. You can work from anywhere within Europe in the CET timezone (9 a.m. - 6 p.m. CET).
About the role
We are looking for a passionate 3D Animator for one of our most beloved games, Neverwinter! You’ll help breathe life into the Forgotten Realms through high-quality, responsive, and visually compelling animations. Your work will directly impact the feel, immersion, and personality of the game’s living world. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team to animate characters, creatures and mounts that resonate with D\&D fans and MMO players alike.
Responsibilities
- Create polished, dynamic animations for characters, enemies, companions and mounts within Neverwinter’s fast-paced action combat system.
- Work closely with game designers, character artists, and engineers to ensure animations support gameplay mechanics and storytelling.
- Apply core animation principles—timing, weight, silhouette, and exaggeration—while optimizing for performance in a real-time multiplayer environment.
- Integrate animations into the game engine, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent motion across a variety of races and classes.
- Participate in animation reviews and respond constructively to feedback from leads and peers.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years of experience as a 3D Animator in game development - at least one shipped title; MMO or RPG experience is a strong plus.
- Skilled in 3D animation tools (experience with 3DSMax is a plus), including rigging and skinning workflows
- Strong grasp of creature and humanoid animation, with attention to combat timing and motion readability
- Familiarity with real-time engine constraints and best practices for animation optimization
- A portfolio demonstrating both technical ability and artistic range, especially in fantasy or stylized animation.
- Passion for the Neverwinter universe and/or Dungeons & Dragons IP is a major advantage
