Job Description & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, our Accountant will assist the Freestar team in preparing, reviewing and maintaining financial transactions, documents and reports. In this role, you have a unique opportunity to impact our client experience by ensuring our clients understand their revenue and are receiving it in the correct amount, on time. You will work with our Account Management team to build and maintain client relationships by interacting directly with our clients to answer billing questions and provide support for their businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting
- Payroll entry
- Processing and reconciling AP and AR
- AR Collections
- Bank reconciliations
- Maintaining working papers and support for ledger accounts
- Working with multiple internal teams to maintain and balance complex spreadsheets
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Preparing monthly sales tax filings
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in an accounting role
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Very strong attention to detail
- Experience with consolidated accounting and reporting among multiple entities
- Experience with US payroll, including federal, state and local filings
- Experience developing and implementing controls
- Post secondary degree/diploma in accounting and/or business
- Strong customer service skills: able to explain financial/billing concepts to various stakeholders
- Self starter being able to work autonomously
- Problem solving: being adaptable and can roll with the punches that come with a tech company
We’d also like to see:
- Strong creative and analytical thinking
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
- The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Google Workspace, Quickbooks and commercial banking platforms
- Beginning to Intermediate level of understanding of the AdTech world
- Excited to work in a complex, fast paced environment
