Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support our CFO in managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. This is a high-impact role at a growing SaaS company, ideal for a finance professional ready to take the next step toward leadership. You’ll help build and refine processes, oversee month-end close, manage audits, and ensure financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO with day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

  • Prepare internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Lead coordination with external auditors for annual audits

  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions

  • Improve and document internal controls and accounting processes

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Work cross-functionally with teams to support operational efficiency and strategic initiatives

  • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects for the CFO

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures to support internal controls and operational consistency

  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and rolling forecasts; track and analyze variances

  • Perform financial analysis to support business decisions related to pricing, contracts, and investment opportunities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts

  • Support tax compliance including preparation of federal, state, and local returns, as well as 1099 filings

  • Review contracts for appropriate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606

  • Collaborate on accounting system improvements and process optimization initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS, tech, or growth-oriented environment

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)

  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems, Sage Intacct is preferred. (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
