We are seeking an Assistant Director of Operations to lead strategic development and execution within the Operations Department. You will join a team that is key to the ultimate customer experience at DWC requiring execution at the highest level. This individual will leverage Lean Six Sigma principles to drive projects enhancing quality, safety, cost reduction, and productivity. Responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with regulations, they collaborate with the Director of Operations to achieve operational excellence. Additionally, they provide leadership, align with company values, and support operational management.
What you will be doing:
- Support the strategic development of the Operations Department’s short and long-term goals to deliver strategic operational results.
- Utilizing Lean Six Sigma Principles, identify, plan, and implement key projects to improve quality and efficiencies, improve safety, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Support implementation of design layout, workflow, and systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety from product receipt through delivery.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement; coach and train personnel in continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor and analyze internal and external customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of department staff.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department via emails, Slack, phone calls, and frequent communication with CDC Managers.
- Perform constructive and timely weekly check-ins with CDC Managers.
- Support the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Develop, review, maintain, and train on standard operating procedures and policies.
- Implement corrective actions and audits to ensure compliance with new processes and procedures.
- Maintain Safety and Health Program, in compliance with OSHA; conduct investigations for errors, safety incidents, and near misses.
- Conduct facility compliance and safety audits, identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the development of and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting operations strategy to appropriately meet targets, goals, and objectives.
- Conduct process assessments and leverage/analyze data to prioritize actions and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the development of facility and equipment planning to drive future growth.
- Research vendor relationships and support new technology initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Promote company culture through leadership behavior based on DWC’s mission, vision, purpose, and values.
- Responsible for supporting the Director of Operations in people development and management in all phases of the employee lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other departments on related projects.
- Participate in professional development and attend industry events to build relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or related field, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent, certification is required.
- Proficiency in data analysis and project management.
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel 20% of the time
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull 25 pounds, occasionally bending and reaching
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Salary Range: $105,000 - $119,000
