About Climate Power

Climate Power is a strategic communications organization focused on winning the politics of climate. We’re educating Americans about our climate progress, highlighting how clean energy investments benefit local communities, and holding Big Oil accountable for polluting our air and water. We use data-backed messages to pave a path for bold action and shine a light on the price of ignoring the climate crisis would cost our health, economy, and future generations.

It’s our job to tell the story of how climate action and clean energy investment are rebuilding our economy, lowering energy costs, and protecting our planet for future generations. We call out disinformation from bad actors like the Big Oil lobby, and make the climate stakes real for voters by translating those priorities into impact and opportunities to take meaningful action.

About This Role

This is a temporary position to support Climate Power’s work and it is expected that this role will end July 31, 2026

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with Mobilization Director to plan, draft, build compelling email (Action Network), SMS (Mobile Commons), landing pages (WordPress), and calls to action that set the climate narrative while engaging, activating, and growing our grassroots audiences;
  • Maintain content calendar to ensure email and SMS deliverables stay on schedule;
  • Track and report on email and SMS analytics to put findings into practice for upcoming messages;
  • Drive Quality Assurance process (proofreading and testing) to make sure every message we send and action we build is technically, grammatically, and functionally correct;
  • Ensure accuracy of subscriber data and targeting in both CRMs, and pull lists for targeting and reporting;
  • Handle public responses to our shared Google group inbox and reply to incoming  messages;
  • Prepare content and calls to action for known upcoming rapid response moments and respond to unknown ones as they come up.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictate.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1 year of relevant prior work experience in copywriting and/or email marketing.
  • 1 year of relevant political, campaign, non-profit, or government experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently, but also collaboratively with diverse groups of people, communities, and partners or vendors.
  • Ability to reflect on what’s working and what isn’t and pivot in response to data analytics.
  • Willingness to stay up to date on best practices and trends relative to the work and projects in their purview.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and shift on a dime.
  • Exceptional team player and effective communicator—both written and oral.
  • Ability to be a proactive self-starter, working independently to ideate and move work forward to successful completion.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (particularly Sheets and Docs).

If you do not meet all of the requirements and believe you are a good fit, we encourage you to apply, but be sure to uplift all experience that aligns with both our essential and desired qualifications.
