THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to our Partners Payout team in Brazil!

At the Payout team, we process and calculate over one million visits our partners receive daily, applying commercial terms to determine precise amounts for each visit. These calculations ensure accurate and timely payments to partners every billing cycle, representing a significant monthly financial volume.

We have many important challenges, such as automations, implementation of new commercial conditions, as well as technical challenges related to scalability and availability of the financial systems that will support the company’s growth.

When it comes to technical challenges, our team works mainly on optimizing the payment flow and management and appliance of commercial conditions, having REST APIs, Kafka consumers and other components that are based in a technical stack that counts on Kotlin and Go as programming languages, relational databases as Postgres and  Apache Kafka for async communication, having everything hosted and managed on AWS and Kubernetes.

YOUR IMPACT

  • You will join your team mates in pair-programming sections, bring suggestions to craft our code style and enhance our workflow, as well as share your opinions and thoughts during team retrospectives and other ceremonies;
  • You will collaborate closely with our Product Manager, other teams and stakeholders in order to properly accomplish our goals and initiatives;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain/support and improve features focusing on performance, scalability and stability;
  • Help to mature our codebase and overall quality, using your software engineering baggage to refactor existing code and deliver new ones with a high-standard;
  • Constantly use observability tools for troubleshooting, gather insights for application tuning and overall enhancements that could lead to required optimizations;
  • Pair with SREs and other technical teams to resolve issues and bring enhancements related to CI/CD, deployments and infrastructure resources usage.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A software engineer skilled on problem solving, using well thought algorithms and the right data structures for the right problems;
  • Passionate about writing good and testable code, with the mindset of always raising the bar when code quality is the topic;
  • Experienced in Cloud-based applications and familiar with microservices architecture;
  • Experienced in working with SQL technology such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. NoSQL databases like Redis is a plus;
  • Experienced in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front-end teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practices;
  • Previous experience with Go and Kotlin is great but not required. The most important thing is to be a good software engineer who loves to solve problems with code
