We’re seeking a Benefits Manager who will take ownership of administering our benefits programs and managing employee leaves of absence, including disability, parental, and FMLA. In this role, you’ll ensure our benefits remain compliant with federal, state, and international regulations, partner with brokers and vendors to resolve issues, and keep our HR systems accurate and up to date. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced tech environment, takes pride in operational excellence, and understands that the details matter when it comes to supporting employees’ health, wellbeing, and work-life balance.

At HackerOne, we embrace a Flexible Work approach, enabling our team members to work remotely while maintaining productivity and collaboration. We are seeking candidates located in D.C., Boston, Austin, Seattle or San Francisco (East Coast preferred), and the surrounding metropolitan areas, to facilitate occasional in-person interactions as needed. While the position is primarily remote, there will be periodic in-person requirements to support team collaboration and foster stronger connections. This approach ensures flexibility while providing opportunities to build meaningful in-person relationships that strengthen our team and company culture.

What You Will Do

  • Support the administration, communication, and implementation of HackerOne’s global benefits programs, policies, and processes - focus will be on US benefits

  • Assist in the coordination of annual benefits open enrollment, vendor renewals, and wellness initiatives; help drive employee awareness and understanding

  • Analyze benefit utilization, employee feedback, and market benchmarks to surface insights and propose potential improvements

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve complex benefits-related issues and escalations

  • Help ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and international benefits regulations; contribute to annual audits and required reporting (e.g., 5500 filings, ACA, nondiscrimination testing)

  • Support relationships with external benefits vendors, brokers, and administrators, including performance tracking and issue resolution

  • Work with the HRIS team to confirm benefit plan accuracy and functionality in Workday

  • Lead the administration of employee leaves of absence (e.g., disability, parental, FMLA) in partnership with third-party administrators

  • Contribute to cross-functional projects related to wellbeing, global benefits alignment, survey participation, or process improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience supporting or administering benefits programs in a fast-paced, multi-state/global organization, with a strong emphasis on the U.S.

  • Experience owning employee leaves of absence (e.g., disability, parental, FMLA)

  • Benefits management, ensuring all benefit plans and programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA)

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear benefits documentation and employee-facing communications

  • Experience supporting vendor relationships, including proposal reviews, renewals, and day-to-day performance

  • Experience collaborating with benefits brokers to evaluate, negotiate, and implement cost-effective employee benefits programs that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

  • Experience performing monthly benefits audits

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build partnerships across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in benefits management within the technology industry, with a deep understanding of its fast-paced, competitive talent landscape.
