MedVA is seeking a highly motivated and organized Bilingual New Patient Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in facilitating the onboarding of new patients by managing referral processes and ensuring excellent communication between healthcare providers and patients.
As a Bilingual New Patient Care Coordinator, you will be also responsible for handling inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing detailed information regarding services offered. Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare providers and support staff to facilitate seamless patient transitions into our care system. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for clear communication with diverse patient populations.
Please be aware that this position is designated for an Independent Contractor, thereby excluding eligibility for benefits, including health insurance, from the client. Contractors should consider the tax implications and their responsibility to file taxes independently with the Internal Revenue Service.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the new patient referral process, including managing paperwork and documentation
Facilitate communication between new patients, referring providers, and specialist offices
Assist with scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits
Provide information on services and resources available to new patients
Translate and interpret documentation to ensure clear understanding for patients and providers in both English and Spanish
Maintain accurate and organized records of referrals and patient interactions
Assist patients with inquiries and concerns related to the referral process
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient transitions
Fluency in English and Spanish is required
Previous experience in a patient care coordination role or similar position in the healthcare industry
Strong knowledge of healthcare processes, referrals, and insurance verification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other office software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experienced in providing customer service in a healthcare setting
Comfortable working remotely and providing your own equipment
